In 1996, when Li Jinsuo was cleaning the dust on the Buddha statue at Zhengguo Temple, suddenly, a piece of mud fell off, revealing half of his head inside, which frightened him and paralyzed him...

At that time, Li Jinsuo, the mayor of Jijiazhuang Village in Mianshan Town, Shanxi Province, led archaeologists to Zhengguo Temple in the depths of Mianshan Mountain, due to the long history and the destruction of the Japanese devils' artillery fire, the temple had long been in tatters, and everyone quickly began to clean.

When Li Jinsuo used a brush to brush away the dust on the head of a Buddha statue, suddenly a loose mud billet fell down, revealing half of the head at the drop. Murder? Li Jinsuo was so frightened that he almost fainted, and he couldn't help but come back to his senses and quickly told the archaeologists about the situation.

Archaeologists examined it carefully, and sure enough, it was a human head, and there were still several mud drops on the Buddha statue, some revealing old and tattered monk robes, and some exposing toes. The more everyone looked at it, the more surprised they became: "Golden Lock, you have made a great contribution, this is the legendary bone-bearing real figure!" ”

Archaeologists looked at the rest of the Buddha statues, and as a result, the 12 Buddha statues in the ancient temple were wrapped in a real body, which was amazing! The real statue of Bao Bone is rare in the world, and there are generally only one or two statues in the famous temple, but I did not expect that the small Zhengguo Temple had preserved 12 statues, and the number became the largest in the country!

Archaeologists also found that the real body of the mud blank shed, due to weathering has become a dry corpse, the real body wrapped in mud embryos is intact, the face is fresh, the joints are free to move, and even every fingernail and toenail is well preserved.

In the following days, archaeologists studied the robes and ornaments of the Buddha statues, as well as the inscriptions left in the temple, and found that the real bodies of these statues were sculpted in the buddha statues, the earliest of which was in the early years of the Tang Dynasty, and the latest was in the last year of the Ming Dynasty. It's unbelievable that the real body, more than 1,000 years ago, still maintains its dead posture! What's going on with the magical bone-bearing real figure?

In order to clarify this problem, the experts consulted a large number of local historical documents and interviewed many people and learned that the original Buddhist family paid attention to the cycle of cause and effect, and the monks believed that only when the cultivation reached the highest realm, they would not be able to decay the flesh and the form of the gods, and only then would they achieve the right results, but there were very few such senior monks.

Later generations made a statue of its incorruptible body from clay, which is the real body of the bone, the problem is, the flesh is not rotten even modern people can not do it, how did the ancients do it?

Experts have come to the following speculations: First, the possession of a real statue of the bone is the lifelong pursuit of almost every enlightened monk, and these senior monks in Zhengguo Temple have been practicing intensively before they were born, and all of them have extremely high Dharma attainments. They eat vegetarian food all year round, sit in meditation for a long time, are extremely disciplined, and more importantly, stay away from ordinary things and maintain a peaceful state of mind.

Second, in the course of cultivation, senior monks should also regularly cut valleys, so that the body can gradually become full of energy without thinking about the five grains.

When they learned that their limit was coming, they entered a state of meditation, drinking some herbs or eating wild fruits to maintain their lives, and after a period of time, they began to fast, drinking only the right amount of mountain spring water. The unique geographical environment of Mianshan makes it almost free of harmful substances in wild fruits and spring water, so there are very few harmful genes accumulated in the body. After a few days, all the dirt and impurities in the body are removed, and the amount of water drunk is gradually reduced until the dripping water does not enter.

After the monk died, the disciples took out his internal organs, scrubbed them, coiled them into a Vajrapani posture, and buried them in a prepared clay pot, the body was stuffed with charcoal, and the lime bag was filled around the head, sealed with the lid of the cylinder, and stored in a cool and ventilated place. As soon as the body decayed and smelled, the disciples immediately opened the fire hole at the bottom of the clay pot and ignited the charcoal for cremation. If the body does not decay, if the cylinder is opened after sitting in the cylinder for three years, it is often called "bodhisattva in the flesh".

Some "bodhisattvas in the flesh" are coated with gold powder to isolate them from the outside world, so that such a flesh can last longer. The real statue of the bone-wrapped body is specially found to be a painted plastic artist according to the image of the monk before his death, using his flesh as a fetus, and wrapping it in clay to make a Buddha statue for posterity to believe.

The sculpted Buddha statue not only has a facial muscle texture of Wei Miao Wei Xiao, but also vividly expresses the charm and temperament of the monk, sitting in front of the eyes like a real person, which is awe-inspiring and has become an art form that people worship physically.

These bodies have been preserved under pure natural conditions for thousands of years, which is a miracle!

The real statue of bao bone in Mianshan Zhengguo Temple is the cultural wisdom of our Chinese nation, it is not a god statue, but a successful monk Buddha statue, it continues the style of traditional Buddhist statues on the mainland, expresses the world's respect and admiration for the gods and Buddhas, and has become an important historical relic on the mainland, and is still a cultural topic that needs to be further studied by the world!
