Two track start records

The steel frame snowmobile race relies on the inertia of the athlete's cart to start and the change of the field drop, with a maximum speed of more than 130 kilometers per hour.

A total of 25 athletes competed in the men's steel frame bobsleigh competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics. After the first two rounds of scooting on the morning of February 10, Yin Zheng temporarily ranked 7th with a total of 2:01.45 in two rounds. It is worth mentioning that he set a track starting record of 4.60 seconds in the first round of skating.

Yin Zheng was born in March 1996 and entered the steel frame snowmobile national training team through cross-discipline selection in 2017.

With his excellent explosive ability and hard training, he has grown from a "little white" in an ice and snow project to a star of hope in only 4 years - he won the second place in the national championship in the 2019-2020 season and won the medal in the intercontinental cup competition for the first time; in the 2021-2022 season, he won 5 consecutive championships and 1 third place in 6 competitions of the two European Championships and two intercontinental cups. From January 21st to 22nd, he won the first place in the men's steel frame bobsleigh event at the Olympic Trial Competition of the Steel Frame Bobsleigh National Training Team at the National Bobsleigh Center, and was finally successfully selected for the Chinese sports delegation of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The last two rounds of the scooter took place on the evening of February 11.

In the third round, Yin Zheng ranked 7th to start. After a day of adjustment, his state improved significantly, and the total result of the three rounds was 3 minutes 01.85 seconds, still temporarily ranked 7th, and he was able to advance to the fourth round according to the rules of the competition.

In the fourth round, he started at 14th place with a starting time of 4.58 seconds, setting a new starting record on the track, and finally finished 5th with a total of 4:02.13.

"After three rounds, I didn't think about the results, but I believe that I should do a good job, play to the extreme, and the final result will be very good." Yin Zheng said after the game, "Although there is a little gap between the final result and the expectations, I am still quite satisfied with today's performance." ”

Hope to gain a little more weight

Strong starting ability is Yin Zheng's biggest technical feature, his starting ability has been called the world's leading level, but the weight is light, is still his "short board" of insufficient acceleration in the gliding stage.

"In addition to the fast starting speed, the steel frame snowmobile movement also requires the weight of the body to drive along the track. If you're heavy enough, you'll glide faster. Yin Zheng said, "I started fast but I was light, so I wanted to take the lead as much as possible in the starting stage." ”

According to reports, most of the steel frame snowmobilers at the Beijing Winter Olympics weigh about five or six kilograms more than Yin Zheng.

"The team was doing everything in their power to help me grow weight, and hopefully I could grow from 75kg to 78kg to improve my gliding speed." Yin Zheng smiled and said, "For a while, I ate a lot every day, and I had to eat more meals, and as a result, I gained a little weight." But after a month, the weight can't grow. Probably because of my physique, it's hard for me to eat fat. ”

After the end of this Winter Olympics, what are Yin Zheng's plans?

"First of all, I gain weight. Growing up in weight can help me improve my grades in the back skating. He said.

Speaking about the future, Yin Zheng said: "Since I started training, I have only participated in a dozen games, and I am still very inexperienced. If I can get more competitive opportunities and continue to gain some weight, I will definitely have better performance. ”

It is understood that in the past year, the Chinese steel frame snow team has made great progress under the leadership of the world's top foreign teachers. Yin Zheng hopes that with the help of the "Snow Dragon", the three sports of sledding, snowmobile and steel frame snowmobile can achieve leapfrog improvement in the level of competition in the mainland. "I've always believed that China's steel frame snowmobile games are getting better and better. Although China's steel frame snowmobile sport is just getting started, the Beijing Winter Olympics will give the sport a rapid rise in the mainland. ”
