Geely Automobile's recent signature powertrain combinations are: 1.5T-L3, MEHV, DCT wet dual clutch. Replacing the former "L4+AT" with this combination is very clever, because the hybrid is quite high-end but the manufacturing cost is very low, and it can mask the lack of quality of the L3 engine, and can form an illusion of "technology flow car company". L3&MEHV

L refers to an internal combustion engine with an in-line cylinder structure, and 3 refers to three groups of cylinders. As we all know, most passenger cars use in-line four-cylinder engines (L4), the reason is that such engines have a stable state of operation close to the 6/8 cylinder engine, and there will always be a set of piston linkages in operation to make the same action as the working cylinder; in the expansion stroke, this action can balance the body to a certain extent, and then through the single and double balance shaft technology can achieve stable operation. The L3 in-line three-cylinder engine is more problematic, because the three sets of cylinders are fired alternately in the order of 1/3/2 or 1/2/3, and no symmetrical cylinder will make the same action to achieve balance when each group of cylinders is moving. The force generated during each work will be accompanied by the movement of the body, and the result is to make the three-cylinder engine swing left and right like a seesaw. No matter which car company produces the L3 engine, the mass production car equipped with it is a NVH that can achieve the ideal, and Geely Xingyue is no exception.

MHEV technology refers to 48-volt light mix technology, and its structural principle is very simple: the engine integrates a BSG power generation start-up machine, and its power output is connected to the engine crankshaft through the belt. The function is to reduce the power consumption of the internal combustion engine by using the motor output power when the vehicle starts, and in the starting and acceleration stages of the maximum driving resistance of the car, reducing the load of the internal combustion engine is equal to a certain degree of fuel saving. However, due to the small motor power of the light mixing system of the Hoshikoshi and other vehicles, the electric motor of only 10kw will not bring the desired fuel saving effect.

Important: The output power of the light hybrid motor needs to pass through the engine crankshaft, which means that the motor cannot drive the car without the engine starting. Because the BSG motor connected by the belt will make the internal combustion engine run once it is running, the running resistance is too large, so it can only be used as an auxiliary power element. Because the applicable scenario of the BSG light hybrid system is too narrow, the battery pack capacity of the motor matching is also extremely small (only about 1kwh); in the operation of too heavy battery capacity is too small, it will frequently lose power, and after the loss of power, the internal combustion engine needs to drive the B motor to reverse the operation of power generation, which will increase the fuel consumption at this stage.

In summary, the practical value of the MHEV mix system is very low, and if this system is used with a good four-cylinder engine, the quality of the vehicle can be defined as an upgrade. But after the downgrading of the three-cylinder engine, the use of light mixing is simple and disguised, because the cost of the light mixing system after mass production increases by no more than 1K, and the three-cylinder engine reduces the cost of parts such as a group of cylinder connecting rod piston spark plug high-voltage lines; after the gearbox is changed from AT to DCT, it can also reduce the cost once, so the guidance price of 13.58 to 14.88 million three-cylinder light mixed car is extremely low cost-effective. Compared to its price-coincident 2.0T four-cylinder large-displacement competitors of the same type, especially some of these four-wheel drive SUVs, what is the appeal of this car?

The hoshigoku PHEV plug-in hybrid version is also at a low level, as its engine is still this three-cylinder machine, and the 10 kW BSG power generation starter is eliminated. The electric drive system is a 60 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor integrated with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, which is too low for a high-quality PHEV car. Moreover, this system is an electric drive system with a transverse platform, and the Starover Plug Mixed Version is just a front-drive car with flat power and general NVH experience. However, its price has reached 18.88 to 216,800, and the lowest level of overlapping competitors is a four-wheel drive car with two motors before and after; so the premium of Geely Xingyue is too high, and based on what factors the premium is unknown, maybe it is a little inflated.
