The Silverstone-based team, which is about to return to its second season at the F1 circuit, released the AMR22 online in the hope that the car will inspire them to get back on their feet.

Due to their close design relationship with Mercedes, their predecessor race point was once the midfield leader, but the aerodynamic changes in 2021 hurt the team, and they fell to the middle and lower reaches, eventually only finishing in P7 in the constructors' standings. But now it's time to look to the future, with Aston Martin becoming the third team to host a 2022 new car launch after Haas on Feb. 4, while Red Bull unveiled their RB18 on Feb. 9. Crucially, Aston Martin showcased the full ARM22, not just the livery, with an impressive side box design.

F1 introduced a comprehensive rule change in 2022, with the car turning to ground effect aerodynamics to make it easier to follow, hoping to create more overtaking opportunities. These new rules also impose stricter restrictions on design parameters than before to avoid unmet purpose.

Team boss Lawrence Stoll said at the press conference: "We are continuing our journey to the pinnacle of F1 and we want to win, but we know it won't be easy and that's why we have a five-year plan to climb to the top. The sport is constantly evolving, and unless you develop with it, you will be left behind. We're going to do it as a team because to be successful in F1, it takes the strength of the team. ”

Aston Martin still maintains the same driver line-up in 2022, including four-time world champions Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stoll.
