In 2021, with the support of the town party committee and the town government, Heyi Grape Cooperative built a grape sorting center covering an area of 2,000 square meters and a storage capacity of 1,100 cubic meters, which not only improved the quality of grapes by sorting indoors according to grades and refrigerated, but also lengthened the grape sales period. Cao Yongjun said that now, good quality grapes are sent to large chain supermarkets, the shelf life is longer, the selling price is higher, and the Portuguese farmers increase their income by 30,000 yuan per mu.
Luo Gang, secretary of the town party committee, told reporters that at present, the grape planting area of the town has developed to 15,000 mu, and the planting area of high-quality grapes such as sunshine roses accounts for nearly two-fifths of the planting area, and the sales of fresh table grapes in 2021 will exceed 400 million yuan.
As the birthplace of the world's "source of rice cultivation", rice is the fist product here. The town has a rice planting area of 68,000 mu and is responsible for the "granary" of the Liyang Plain. Chengtoushan Town is changing from a "big agricultural town" to a "strong agricultural town".
