Soseki Makura style, Natsume Soseki Akira, "Heart"
In the courtyard shrouded in darkness, Mr. Natsume Soseki, who was sitting opposite, raised his head, looked at the dark clouds and the moonlit night sky, looked down at a shallow sip, and calmly told the story. I have never been able to wake up from that story, and if I compare it to drunkenness, it is definitely a reaction after drinking three pounds of 52 ° liquor.
That story is Natsume Soseki's Heart written in 1914. In 1914, two years after the Meiji era in Japan, three years after the success of the Xinhai Revolution, the outbreak of the First World War, Japan put forward the "Twenty-one Articles", and the "May Fourth Movement" opened the prologue to the new democratic revolution. At that time, Natsume Soseki, who called himself the "Meiji Boy", had just recovered from a serious illness, changed his past bright extroversion, and wrote the deep and introverted "Heart" in one fell swoop. He did not know that two years later, he would die of a stomach ulcer at the age of 49.

From the publication of "I Am a Cat" at the age of 38 to his death at the age of 49, Natsume Soseki's time in literary creation was not very long, that is, a little more than ten years, but he left many classics. "I Am a Cat" and "Heart" give people the opposite feeling, just like a person from youth to middle age, what he feels and wants to express has changed dramatically. In 1910, Natsume was hospitalized with a stomach ulcer and was on the verge of death. This event greatly changed his creative style. It is not difficult to find from the title of the novel that he has become more focused on his inner feelings.
Why is it called "Heart"? Probably in this world, there is nothing more difficult to understand than the mind. There is a cloud in the Xunzi Xie shu "The mind determines the appearance and is the master of the spiritual level. People grow up, is the process of constantly asking the heart, and Natsume Soseki's heart in this novel can be described as deep into the bone marrow.
Just as there is no absolute freedom in the world, it is difficult for the human heart to have absolute goodness, and the "evil" in the heart is like a yin beast, peering into the gap of goodness, and the slightest inattention will fill the heart. Edogawa makes a compromise with evil in "Yin Beast", while Natsume Soseki in "Heart", does not give up until he reaches his goal, faces the evil in his heart, and then makes a decision in a decisive way.
Not only that, but the gentleman and I in "Heart" are more like the dilemma in Natsume Soseki's heart: do you remember the "Meiji spirit" to be martyred for the lost era, or do you continue to find your own direction in the new era? From the layout of the novel, it can be seen that the encounter between Mr. and me, with different marks of the times, is the inevitable reason for the inevitable appearance of the qingxin; and my parents and me are the inner struggle between the "Meiji Spirit" and me; the Mr. and the suicide note represent that the "Meiji Spirit" is dead. When the heart changes in the times, it looks for a long-standing original intention, but in the end it finds that along the way, it is inevitably dirty and pedantic, so it is heartbroken.
The reader's published Natsume Shushi's work "Heart", translated by Huang Yuesheng, pays more attention to literal translation, although compared with Lin Shaohua's version, it lacks the basic knowledge of writing, but it is closer to the original author's meaning, so that readers can control the original intention of Mr. Natsume Shushi. There is a faint sadness between the lines, much like the story brought by a long-lost old friend from afar, and the blandness contains the unbelievable horror of outsiders.
Natsume Shushi , formerly known as Natsume Kanenosuke , is the name of "Shushi", which is derived from the sentence "Shushi Pillow Flow" in the "Biography of Sun Chu of Jin".
When Chu Shao wanted to live in seclusion, he said: "When you want to pillow the stone gargle." "Mistaken clouds" gargle stone pillow flow" . Ji Yue: "Flow is not pillowable, stone is not gargling." Chu Yue: "Therefore the pillow flows, and wants to wash his ears; so gargles the stone, and wants to strengthen his teeth." ”
Garglestone is to sharp teeth, pillow flow is to keep the heart. It can be seen that Natsume Soseki's literacy in Chinese culture is extremely high, coupled with the experience of studying in the United Kingdom, when he returned to China coincided with the Meiji Restoration, three cultures were added to his body, and he needed to ask the heart to truly keep his heart (pillow stream).
The word "Gargle", since the publication of "I Am a Cat", has been out of control, and to this day, he still has many pumps. At least in the works, the shrewd and capable language and logical layout are worthy of the name of "Shushi".
