On the morning of February 9, a reporter from Dahe Bao Yu came to the DiHu Lake near the West Third Ring Road in the Central Plains District for a visit.
During the visit, the on-site reporter saw that the water level of The Emperor Lake had dropped significantly, part of the lake bottom was exposed, and a large amount of silt on the lake was inlaid with footprints. Nearby, boats played by citizens ran aground on the lake.
Walking north along the lakeside road, some of the lakes are very shallow, and you can clearly see the bottom of the lake, and there are duckweed floating on it. In addition to some garbage, there are indeed some dead fish floating around.
"It's a pity that the lake is dry." An old man stood at the head of the bridge, looking north at the Emperor Lake and sighing. However, I heard that it seems to be upgrading.

At the north gate of Dihu Lake, there are fences on both sides, the earthwork is covered with dust nets, an excavator is working on the construction, and several workers next to it are busy.
"The bridge is being repaired in this place, and it will be repaired in May." A worker on duty at the door said that construction had just begun shortly after the end of the year.
Nearby residents told reporters that the transformation of Dihu Lake is a people's livelihood project, and they are very supportive.
◆ It is being transformed to increase the flood drainage capacity of the river
On August 22 last year, large-scale excavation machinery excavated the first shovel of the flood discharge at the first bridge of the Dihu Lake connecting the Jinshui River, and the construction of the flood outlet of the Dihu community began. On the bridge deck, construction machinery excavated a flood spillway about 8 meters wide, and the lake area stored water along the spillway directly into the Jinshui River.
On the morning of February 9, the reporter contacted the Dihu Garden community, and a staff member said that there was no water upstream, and the bridge was also being remodeled, resulting in the partial drying up of the Dihu Lake.
A staff member of the office in the jurisdiction of Dihu said that it is currently being renovated and may be transferred to the management of the office after the transformation.

The Jinshui River flows from Laohugou in the northern foothills of Meishan Mountain to enter Zhengzhou city through Huanglonggang, Guojiazui Reservoir, Huanggang Temple, and Jinhai Reservoir (now known as Dihu Lake), and runs through the urban area from southwest to northeast, and joins the Dongfeng Canal at Bali Temple in Jinshui District.
