California DMV released autonomous driving report a number of Chinese companies ranked in the top ten

Shanghai Securities News China Securities Network News (reporter Yu Liyan) The California Transportation Administration DMV released a new 2021 full-year automatic driving data on February 10, and China and the United States head autonomous driving companies occupy the top of the list. In the ranking of Chinese companies, Antu AutoX ranked first, Didi Didi ranked third, Wenyuan WeRide ranked fifth, Yuanrong DeepRoute ranked sixth, Pony Pony ranked seventh, and Baidu Baidu ranked eleventh.

California DMV, with its annual average takeover mileage as one of the core metrics of autonomous driving, is widely recognized by the global autonomous driving industry as a more objective, quantitative and accurate measure than the test drive experience. California also currently has the largest number and longest number of global self-driving companies, collecting a large amount of test data every year, and is also the first fully driverless license issuing agency.

In 2020, Antu AutoX obtained the second in the world and the first fully driverless license in China in California. In 2021, Chinese companies such as Baidu Baidu, Wenyuan WeRide, and Pony Pony have also obtained driverless licenses issued by The California DMV.

In terms of hardware, all Chinese companies on the list are equipped with multiple lidars. Except for Pony and Yuanrong Kaixing DeepRoute, who announced that they will abandon rotary lidar and use one-way radar embedded in the body, other Chinese leading companies have chosen rotary lidar. Some industry experts pointed out that rotary lidar is still the first choice of the vast majority of head Robotaxi companies.
