Apple will reportedly release a range of new devices in early March, including a new MacBook Pro with the latest M2 processor, an entry-level 5G iPhone SE, and an iPad. In addition to the processor, most of the other components used by the new MacBook Pro reportedly have almost the same specifications as existing models with M1 chips.
Apple's intention is to release an updated version of the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 chips in 2022, but it is widely believed that the machine will be released later this year, that is, after Apple completes the release of the final Mac with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.
The next-generation entry-level MacBook Pro will contain the M2 chip that the next-generation MacBook Air is expected to use, with the same number of CPU cores as the M1 chip, 10 graphics cores, and further improve performance. Gurman believes that Apple will eliminate the Touch Bar on the new entry-level MacBook Pro, and expects the notebook will not include a ProMotion display.
