On the evening of the 24th, BYD (002594. SZ) Ministry of Justice issued a statement on its official Weibo that it would file a lawsuit against the party to the above incident, the car blogger "Yao *qiang", demanding a public apology and compensation of 5 million yuan.

According to previous reports, the blogger once posted a video on his account saying that the fuel consumption of the first model of the Formula Leopard car "Leopard 5" is as high as 18 liters per 100 kilometers, which is far from the official publicity.

According to the Weibo of BYD's legal department, car blogger Yao * Qiang posted a test video on his Douyin account "Daqin Jun Shaanxi Tuan", claiming to test the fuel consumption of BYD's formula leopard car "Leopard 5" in a normal driving mode, and finally came to the conclusion that the fuel consumption of the model reached 18 liters per 100 kilometers.

In response to the above behavior, BYD's legal department said that "Yao * Qiang"'s abnormal driving behavior caused harm to road safety, and his false claim about the fuel consumption results of the normal test also caused serious damage to the product reputation of BYD's Formula Leopard brand and "Leopard 5". In addition to calling the police, BYD decided to formally file a lawsuit against "Yao *qiang", demanding a public apology and compensation of 5 million yuan.

BYD said that netizens found its traffic violations according to the test video and reported it to the traffic police department, and then in response to the police investigation evidence, BYD Formula Leopard retrieved the relevant vehicle operation data and found:

On the day of the test, the car had a large number of abnormal driving behaviors, including but not limited to driving at high speeds at 3 periods exceeding 180km/h and 6 periods exceeding 170km/h; In the whole section of high-speed driving, the speed of 120-140km/h accounted for more than 37%, the speed of 140-160km/h accounted for more than 46%, and the speed of more than 160km/h accounted for more than 4%; And the car has repeatedly experienced abnormal driving phenomena such as rapid acceleration and deceleration.

The Red Star Capital Bureau noted that at present, the car blogger's Douyin account "Daqin Jun Shaanxi Tuan" has nearly 1.4 million followers. The fuel consumption test video related to the Formula Leopard "Leopard 5" in his account has been removed from the shelves.
