American figure skater Zhou Zhifang just released a video confirming that he tested positive for the new crown twice and had to interrupt his Olympic trip. Retired from the figure skating men's singles event.
Zhou Zhifang himself posted a 5-minute video on social media on the evening of February 7, announcing that he regrettably bid farewell to the Winter Olympics and wept sadly. He also competed in the figure skating team event on Feb. 6, with the U.S. team eventually winning the silver medal in the team event.
Since the men's singles short program lottery has been completed, it is no longer allowed to replace the substitutes. The U.S. team will have only Chen Wei and Jason Brown in the men's singles short program competition that begins on Feb. 8. The American Ice Association subsequently issued a document confirming the news.
