BEIJING, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Zhou Zhifang, a figure skater on the U.S. team, posted on his personal social media that he had to withdraw from the individual competition that began today because he was diagnosed positive for the new crown virus.

The reporter also saw at the scene of the men's single skating short program competition of the Beijing Winter Olympics held on the 8th that Zhou Zhifang's name was previously marked as "WD" (abstaining).

In the single-player short program competition, Zhou Zhifang was supposed to appear in the 6th place in the second group. But when the second group of players warmed up, Zhou Zhifang was not among them.
