What sparks do the 16-litre 750-horsepower engine, the oversized Volvo Globetrotter XL cab, and the powerful PALFINGER crane collide? The picture shows that this crane is. It adopts an overall blackened livery, and the original silver FH16 exclusive front grille, cab, tops, and wheels are painted black, which is excellent visual effect. The vehicle also added a blue decoration on this basis, and the rearview mirror bracket also became blue, which can be seen in the intention of the vehicle.
The bumper of the vehicle uses a road version of the bumper. Volvo also offers an engineered version of the steel bumper, but this will have an impact on the modification. The two-stage flip-over pedal at the front was eliminated and replaced by a hydraulic outrigger directly connected to the front of the frame, providing stability for crane work. The blue-embellished bumper hem and headlight outline reduce the monotony of the vehicle's livery, adding to its visual effects. The license plate of this car is also more interesting, the DG in the DG 750 stands for DGKran Company, and the 750 represents the horsepower of the vehicle.
Pop lights are installed in the front grille of the vehicle to enhance the warning effect when working. The original Volvo seat belt LOGO on the front cover was hidden, replaced by a large area of blue VOLVO to enhance the recognition of the vehicle.
The top light box in the cab was also customized, replacing the Globetrotter XL cab logo with a blue FH16 750 model and horsepower logo. The vehicle was also fitted with an optional volvo-factory cab top light stand, and a strip of LED searchlights and air horns were installed on the light stand. In actual use, the strip LED searchlight has a better lighting effect than multiple circular LED searchlights, and has the advantages of high integration and relatively more energy saving, and is gradually becoming popular.
It was rare to use the largest Globetrotter cab at the time on an engineering vehicle. As the flagship crane of DG Kran, the configuration of this car must naturally be bold enough to act as the company's façade. The car's air filter is placed at the rear left of the cab, with a blue company mailbox, telephone and a huge Swedish flag-style cross logo on the side of the cab, inspired by volvo FH Performance Edition limited edition trucks.
Many of the vehicle's configurations make way for the modification of the crane, for example, the rear deflector cover of the vehicle is cut off. Between the first and second axles, the vehicle was fitted with only a small-sized urea tank, giving up all other positions to the outriggers. The outriggers of the vehicle are hydraulically powered and can be easily maneuvered via a remote control.
The vehicle adopts an 8x2 drive configuration, and the third axle is the drive shaft. The crane is placed on the second axle, closer to the vehicle's center of gravity. This configuration avoids excessive shifts of the center of gravity during lifting and prevents the vehicle from overturning.
The crane model of this car is PARFIG PK135.002, which has 9 telescopic booms, a maximum working radius of 21.9 meters, and a maximum lifting weight of 3.8 tons at the far end. The crane is also equipped with a stronger hoist, boom camera system, and A PJ150E secondary arm, which can widen the maximum working radius to 34.5 meters and the farthest lifting weight of 1020 kg.
In order to install the crane, the vehicle was specially designed, and a platform was made above the frame, so that the boom of the crane could be placed on the top to facilitate commuting. The outrigger pad of the vehicle is placed next to the boom and the outrigger, which is mainly used to spread the pressure to avoid unstable support, and the position is very convenient to take, which enhances the work efficiency.
In order to allow space, the vehicle's battery is arranged in a low position, between the second and third axles. Part of the vehicle's control panel is placed above the second axle, and work lights are added to the side to illuminate the area next to the car.
In addition to control panel control, the vehicle can also be operated remotely using the PALFINGER radio remote control, allowing the operator to work from a safe position at a distance to avoid injury and to observe the situation in the field more and enhance the accuracy of hoisting.
One of the advantages of PALFINGER is that it can be originally built, and the top of this railing truck that is hoisted with the car is made by the original PALFINGER factory, and the fit with the vehicle is higher. The upper load of the railing truck is mainly used to place the attachment of the crane and the secondary arm that accommodates the crane, and there are not many cases of pulling goods.
To make room for the topage, the rear legs of the vehicle are placed behind the fourth axle in a low arrangement. There is also a small storage box between the third and fourth axes and the top, and there is also a storage box behind the legs, which makes the most of the space.
There are not many configurations at the rear of the car. The taillights are original Volvo and the license plate is placed in the upper left. Reflective markings on the bumpers and upper railings enhance driving safety. A coupling is also installed at the rear of the car to facilitate the traction of additional trailers. After all, for this truck, the 750-horsepower engine is still a bit overkill.
Due to the fence, the layout on the right side of the vehicle cannot be clearly seen. The arrangement on the right is roughly similar to that on the left, with a exhaust gas aftertreatment system between the first and second axes and a diesel tank between the two and third shafts. Behind the fourth axis, rear outriggers and storage boxes were installed as usual. Next to the crane, Palfinger also saw a needle in the seam, and the yellow triangle wood for the car was installed using the gap in the boom, and the overall compact level of arrangement was pleasing to the eye.
When the vehicle is equipped with a secondary arm, the crane cannot be folded to its original position. In order to enhance the efficiency of the vehicle and avoid repeated disassembly of the auxiliary arm, the vehicle will pad the boom on the top railing for the transition. The crane itself also has a transport mode to avoid being damaged by bumps during transport.
With its unique livery and powerful configuration, this truck became the star of the PARFIGER booth at NUFAM 2021 and was loved by many people.
