On February 6, Beijing time, the 2021-22 NBA regular season continued. Earlier today, the Bucks officially announced that the team has officially signed a 10-day contract with free agent center Greg Monroe!
Monroe, 31, entered the NBA in 2010 and has played for the Pistons, Bucks, Suns, Raptors, 76ers, Timberwolves, Wizards and more. He played for the Timberwolves and Wizards last season, making five appearances, averaging 16.2 minutes per game, 5.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1 block, shooting 59.1 percent from the field.
Monroe is no stranger to the Bucks, who previously played for the Bucks for three seasons but didn't have much of a standout. Earlier in the season, the Bucks signed Cousins as a backup center, but the Bucks didn't keep him. Now the signing of Monroe has also caused many media to question the decision to send Cousins away.
It is worth mentioning that throughout Monroe's career, his "most famous" on-court performance was not honorable, and in a game between the Bucks and the Cavaliers in the 2017-18 season, he once wrapped his arms around Rose's neck from behind during a defensive campaign, causing Rose to fall to the ground and sprain his ankle. Rose expressed strong dissatisfaction after the game, and Monroe was also added to the malicious foul, becoming the object of condemnation by fans and the media, which also gave him the nicknames "Bad Guy" and "Dirty Man".
Throughout his career, Monroe averaged 27.6 minutes per game, averaging 13.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.6 blocks, shooting 51.4 percent from the field. As defending champions, the Bucks currently sit in Fourth Place in the East with 32 wins and 21 losses.
