Yucheng: Yi Di makes wine and is alienated by Dayu

Yi Di made wine in Yucheng

"Yi Di makes wine."

In Yucheng

The incident that Yi Di made wine was alienated by Dayu had a far-reaching impact on Yucheng. In 1995, the "Yucheng Hometown Address Book: Excerpts from the History of Yucheng County" compiled by Taiwan compatriots recorded: "Yucheng is on the north bank of the Yellow River, and it is said that it was a city built by Da Yu when he was ruling the water, and there is a famous restaurant in the city, the famous Yi Mash Tower... (Yi Di) makes sake mash, 'Yu rewards the beauty, so yi di'. However, although Dayu alienated Yi Di, the method of brewing wine was passed down. ”

The above records all show that Yidi wine and Yu Shuyi Di occurred in the ancient city of Yuxi, and the Yi Mash Tower in the city is the historical witness of YiDi wine in Yucheng.

Regarding Yi Di's wine, the "History of Chinese Dynasties" also records: "Legend has it that Yi Di made wine ("Shi Ben Zuo"), and wine was invented by Yu Chen Yi Di. The invention of wine is long before the Xia Dynasty, but Yidi probably has more prominent manufacturing and improvement in the winemaking process. Two problems arise here: one is that Yi Di was a Xia Dynasty, and the legend about Yi Di's wine in Yucheng was recorded by later generations in relevant writings that Yi Di made wine during the period when Da Yu ruled the water; second, yi Di "first invented wine... However, Yi Di probably has more prominent creations and improvements in the winemaking process." This statement is in line with the legend of Yucheng folk about Yidi making wine. Therefore, it is not difficult to prove that Yi Di's claim that wine was made in Yucheng is very reasonable.
