iPad shipments, revenue fell sharply! Apple was helpless: the chip was first supplied to the iPhone

After summarizing the shipment data for the past two months, some media reported that the Apple iPad still needs up to 9 weeks of delivery waiting time.

In the Philippines, for example, users who ordered a space gray, 256GB iPad Pro had to wait 63 days to arrive.

The report pointed out that in the case of some parts and components, Apple still prioritizes the supply of iPhones, "sacrificing" the iPad, so the latter is still facing a tight situation.

This also seems to be confirmed in Apple's earnings report and external statistics.

The recently released data of Apple's first fiscal quarter of fiscal 2022 (October-December 2021) showed that iPad revenue was $7.25 billion, down 14% year-on-year; compared with iPhone revenue of $71.63 billion, an increase of 9.2% year-on-year.

Apple's CFO said "very serious supply constraints" have led to a shortage of iPads, and supply chain problems are mainly due to chip shortages in older models.

In IDC's statistics, Apple's shipments in the fourth quarter decreased by 8.6% year-on-year.
