The National Library debunked the rumor of "donating classes", and Yu Minhong sent a video response

After the National Library of China stated that it had not donated New Oriental curriculum resources, on January 27, Yu Minhong, the founder of New Oriental, released a video on Weibo saying that it was collecting high-quality educational resources and courses that New Oriental had concentrated in the past few years, and after sorting and classifying, it would be put on a platform within the scope of national permission for primary and secondary school students and people with learning needs across the country to share. The content is not limited to primary and secondary school courses, but also some adult courses. After the platform is announced, free course services will be provided.

Recently, there is news that "New Oriental boutique courses can be accessed free of charge through the National Digital Library", in which the National Library issued a statement on the 26th, saying that this is false information on the Internet.

The statement said that the National Library has never received any donations from institutions and individuals for the "New Oriental Boutique Course" resources. At present, the "New Oriental Multimedia Learning Library" resource provided on the website of the National Library is a commercial database purchased by the library in 2008, and since then, the National Library has successively purchased new curriculum resources every year according to the funding situation, and provided services to the public free of charge.

According to the agreement between the National Library of China and the database operator Beijing New Oriental Xuncheng Network Technology Co., Ltd., the database only provides local area network and remote access services through the National Library, and cannot provide mobile (APP) services. In the process of using the database, the database operator has provided a short-term trial of resources such as "New Concept English Youth Edition" according to the negotiation between the two parties, and the operator will close the trial module service after the trial period expires. The National Library has purchased curriculum resources that have been provided with access services.

According to Yu Minhong' explanation, "This news is a mistake, since 2008 New Oriental has actually been cooperating with the National Library, in fact, the National Library purchased part of the courses of New Oriental, put into the database of the National Library, free of charge to ordinary people, free to open this thing is the National Library to do." But recently there has been no cooperation with the National Library. ”
