Henan's launch of the archaeological survey of the Jincun Eastern Zhou Wangling District is of great significance for the recovery of lost overseas cultural relics

On January 27, the reporter learned from the Luoyang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology that Luoyang recently launched the archaeological survey and survey of the Eastern Zhou Wangling Tombs in Jincun, aiming to clarify the basic situation of cultural relics in the Eastern Zhou Wangling District of Jincun. At the same time, it can help determine the yardstick of cultural relics unearthed in Jincun and provide a reliable basis for recovering the cultural relics of Jincun that have been lost overseas, which is of great significance.

In 770 BC, king Ping of Zhou moved east and built the capital Luoyang, known in history as "Eastern Zhou", and his 25th generation of kings were buried near Luoyang, divided into three mausoleum areas: Zhoushan, Wangcheng and Jincun. From 1928 to 1932, thousands of precious cultural relics such as gold and silver, bronze and jade were excavated from the eight Tombs of the Eastern Zhou Kings in Jincun, which are still scattered in more than a dozen countries overseas.

It is reported that so far, a number of tombs of eastern Zhou princes have been found in China, but the highest level of eastern Zhou Tianzi tombs have not been fully discovered. Through the development of Jincun archaeology, it will help to make up for the above missing links, solve the major problem of the transformation and inheritance of ancient Chinese mausoleums, and provide a breakthrough for the in-depth study of the Eastern Zhou Chengzhou City.
