This includes the recall of some domestically produced Audi Q5L vehicles with a production date from March 1, 2018 to December 4, 2021, for a total of 453791 units.
It is reported that the vehicles within the scope of this recall are located in a lower position under the rear seats because the gateway control module is located in the lower position under the rear seats, and if a large amount of liquid is accidentally spilled on the rear seats, it may enter the gateway control module, resulting in a short circuit inside the gateway control module, which further causes various internal errors. Gateway control module has a safety design, if an untrusted signal is detected, the engine, gearbox, steering system, etc. will enter the protection mode, at this time the transmission clutch will be disconnected, resulting in power interruption in the vehicle, increasing the possibility of accidents, there are safety hazards.
FAW-Volkswagen AG will entrust an authorized Audi dealer to install a protective cover of the gateway control module free of charge for the vehicles within the scope of the recall to prevent the ingress of liquids and eliminate potential safety hazards.
In addition, FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. will recall a total of 368 Audi SQ5 vehicles imported from April 14, 2021 to December 3, 2021.
According to the official website, the vehicles within the scope of this recall may enter the gateway control module because the gateway control module is located in the lower position under the rear seat, if a large amount of liquid is accidentally spilled on the rear seat; in addition, some vehicles may also enter the water through the seams under the body under heavy rain or deep water conditions. The entry of liquid may cause a short circuit inside the gateway control module, which further causes various internal errors.
