GM plans to expand its electric vehicle team with the goal of becoming a leader in electric vehicles

According to Reuters, the company announced on Wednesday that it would recruit more than 8,000 new technical employees this year as General Motors accelerated the development of electric vehicles and software-driven services.

GM said it is expanding its teams responsible for vehicle electrification, developing automotive software and autonomous technologies, and fuel cell engineering.

The day before, GM announced more than $7 billion in investments at four production sites in Michigan. The investment is expected to significantly increase automakers' production capacity for batteries and electric trucks at these plants and add about 4,000 new jobs.
