Whiplash January 27 news, yesterday, Microsoft released the second quarter of fiscal 2022 financial results ended December 31.
The company's total revenue for the fiscal second quarter was $51,728 million, up 20 percent from $43,076 million in the year-ago quarter, and net profit was $18,765 million, up 21 percent from $15,463 million in the year-ago quarter. At the same time, in the earnings report, Microsoft also disclosed that the number of monthly active users of its communication and collaboration platform Microsoft Teams in December has exceeded 270 million.

According to Microsoft, the number of users of Microsoft Teams continues to grow, but it is much slower than the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Among daily active users, Microsoft Teams jumped from 75 million in April 2020 to 115 million in October 2020 and to 145 million in April 2021.
Teams' competitors include Slack, which was acquired by Salesforce last year for $27.7 billion, and Zoom, as we know it. It is worth mentioning that Microsoft launched a standalone version of Teams for small businesses in December, which is separate from other Office applications and services, posing a more immediate threat to Zoom.
