Shan Jixiang: This generation of young people is full of cultural self-confidence

Beijing, January 26 (China Youth Daily, China Youth Daily reporter Zhang Yi) In front of the cultural heritage are teenagers. And generations of young people are the source of the eternal strength of ancient culture. "This generation of young people is full of cultural self-confidence. They are more interested in the traditional costumes, music and activities of the mainland, which is a kind of support and a touch for us who do cultural communication. Shan Jixiang, president of the Beijing Dongcheng Cultural Development Research Institute and dean of the Forbidden City Academy, said.

Shan Jixiang found that today's young people have a lot of changes in their need to receive information, their tools for receiving information are changing, and they hope that fragmented time will be fully utilized, and cultural dissemination must adapt to this change and demand.

Following young people and constantly exploring the forms of innovative cultural dissemination is what Shan Jixiang has been doing. In recent years, the application of a series of digital technologies in the Forbidden City has brought cultural relics to life. Programs such as "I Repair Cultural Relics in the Forbidden City", "The Forbidden City", "National Treasures" and other programs have won extraordinary ratings after repeatedly listening to the feedback of young people.

Shan Jixiang remembers that the program "I Repair Cultural Relics in the Forbidden City" even affected the employment choices of many young people, and at the most, more than 30,000 people applied for the Palace Museum. "So we are determined what kind of programs can make traditional culture closer to young people, easier for them to understand, and can be moved."

He is participating in the "Ten Thousand Miles Walking Single Ride" program, from a broader perspective, the World Heritage, which is also the most quintessential part of China's cultural heritage, to spread at the pace of one episode per week. In the program, participants of different ages formed the "Wanli Youth League" and used their hands-on practice to feel, participate and experience, and talk to more peers.

Some cultural and creative products are also being introduced. Many people come to the Forbidden City to see the colorful exhibition activities, and also let the Forbidden City culture enter thousands of households and enter the lives of young people. Shan Jixiang introduced that constantly contacting young people and feeling their attention to traditional culture is the coordinate of reference for the innovative practice of cultural communication. "Practices like this are never-ending."
