Silk Road Golden Bridge

Shu Yong has been creating art since 1990 and has won the Lifetime Achievement Award of the International Contemporary Art Biennale in Florence, Italy, and the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for the 30 Years of Reform and Opening Up jointly issued by the Chinese National Culture Promotion Association and the National Museum of China.

At the end of 2013, he began the creation of the sculpture "Silk Road Golden Bridge". "Silk Road Golden Bridge" takes China's oldest "Zhaozhou Bridge" as the shape, integrates into the national flowers of all countries in the world, and uses amber as the medium to convey the values of building a community with a shared future for mankind. It was first exhibited at the Milan World Expo in 2015, and has since become the core theme landscape at two consecutive "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and the First Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations. At the end of 2021, the "Reading China" International Conference was held in Guangzhou, using "Silk Road Golden Bridge" as the visual image logo of "Understanding China", and blending with Guangzhou's landmark Canton Tower to form a new era landscape with Chinese characteristics and world significance.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic in 2020, Shu Yong has created one ink painting every day, paying tribute to the heroes of the "epidemic" with a daily painting, and currently donates all works to the China Peace and Development Foundation. By the end of December 2021, the cumulative number of visitors to the national tour exhibition reached 10 million. Shu Yong said that the next step of the work is to be exhibited in New York, Paris and other world-renowned cities to tell the "Chinese story" of fighting the epidemic worldwide.
