A few days ago, under the guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Arts and Crafts Association and the Guangdong Provincial Arts and Crafts Society, sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Arts and Crafts Treasures Museum, undertaken by the Liuzhou Strange Stone Museum, and co-organized by the Liuzhou Stone Appreciation Association and the Guangxi Liuzhou National Painting Stone Special Committee, the "Guangxi Liuzhou Strange Stone Art Exhibition" was opened in the Guangdong Provincial Arts and Crafts Treasures Museum. The exhibition will run until 31 March.
Liuzhou, which has a typical karst landform, is known as the "Stone Capital of China", and its strange stones are diverse, and are known for their "strange shape, beautiful color, beautiful pattern, good quality, elegant seat, and famous cut". The culture of stone appreciation in Liuzhou has a long history, dating back to the Tang Dynasty or even further. Liu Zongyuan's "Records of Landscape and Water" has clouds: "Under the dragon wall, many xiushi can be yan"; Liu Yuxi commented on the Strange Stone of Liuzhou "Qingyue knocking on the han jade, jagged stacked with blue clouds"; Han Yu's "Luochi Temple Stele" uses "white stone teeth" to illustrate the strangeness of Liuzhou mountain stones. Liuzhou is also the first city to appear large-scale stone market and the first city to open a stone culture exhibition hall.
Exhibits
The "Shili Qiankun - Guangxi Liuzhou Strange Stone Art Exhibition" gathers nearly 100 pieces of strange stone masterpieces, mainly for the Guangxi Hongshui River Water Rushing Stone and Liuzhou National Painting Stone. The Hongshui River water rushing stones include Laibin Stone, Large Fossil, Beidan Stone, Duan Stone, etc., which come from different sections of the Hongshui River in Guangxi, and are formed after being transported, tumbled, impacted and abraded by the river water for hundreds of millions of years. Liuzhou Chinese painting stone is the most common grass flower texture, also known as "grass flower stone", produced in the deep mountains of Laibin, Liuzhou and surrounding areas. Each stone picture, stone pattern and shape are naturally formed, or figurative or abstract, with a wide range of themes, varied, only cut and polished, can be described as the creation of nature's miraculous craftsmanship.
The organizers expect that this exhibition will allow Guangdong audiences to approach the colorful Liuzhou Strange Stones, and while obtaining artistic aesthetic enjoyment, further understand the natural origins and humanistic stories behind the Guangxi Strange Stones, so as to promote cross-regional cultural exchanges and dissemination, and promote the cooperation and development of the two places.
