From July 8th to July 10th, the funeral of Dr. Stanley Ho, a well-known patriotic businessman in Hong Kong and Macao, was held at the Hong Kong Funeral Home. Yesterday (10th) at 1:30 p.m., after two consecutive days of mourning activities, the funeral ceremony was carried out.

Present at the funeral ceremony were Tung Chee-hwa, Ho Hau-wah, and Leung Chun-ying, vice chairmen of the NATIONAL Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference[ Carrie Lam, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ; Luo Huining , director of the Liaison Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China ; Tam Tie Niu , deputy director of the Central Liaison Office ; and some officials of the Hong Kong and Macao SAR governments. It was also supported by Tung Chee-hwa, Ho Hau Wah, Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Tan Tieniu, Li Weinong, Li Guobao, Hu Yingxiang and Li Yeguang. It is understood that the coffin will be buried at the Zhaoyuan Cemetery on an auspicious day next year.

In his eulogy, Mr. Tung Chee-hwa said that Ho Hung-sin has worked hard all his life to start a business, is a widely respected entrepreneur and a model of unremitting self-improvement; he has loved the country and Hong Kong and Macao all his life, cared about the development of the country, vigorously supported the country's reform and opening up, and made great contributions to the development of Hong Kong and Macao.

In his eulogy, Mr. Tsui said that Ho's contribution to the development of university education in Hong Kong, including donations to the establishment of the HKU Alumni Challenge Fund, is a history-making contribution. Xu Lizhi said that the use of "outer circle and inner square" to describe Mr. Ho Hongshen could not be more appropriate.

Mr. Fok Chun Ting recalled his past with Mr. Ho Hung Sun, saying, "Ho Hung Sun is a brave and straightforward person, never put up a shelf, as long as he is present, he will not be cold. ”

On behalf of his family, He Youlong, son of Ho Hung-sun, said in a eulogy that Ho Hung-sun has loved the country and Hong Kong and Macao all his life, and is committed to participating in the construction of the motherland and vigorously promoting the economic development of the Pearl River Delta region. The Ho family will also remember Ho's teachings and continue to contribute to society.

Mr. Stanley Ho died in Hong Kong on 26 May 2020 at the age of 98 due to illness. Born in Hong Kong in November 1921, Ho was a member of the Standing Committee of the 9th, 10th and 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and was the founder of Macau Tourism and Entertainment Co., Ltd., Shun Tak Group Limited and Macau Gaming Co., Ltd. In recognition of Ho's contributions to society and the public good, the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Macao SAR Government awarded him the Grand Bauhinia Medal and the Grand Lotus Medal of Honor in 2010 and 2007 respectively.
