On the occasion of the Lunar Year of the Tiger, an artistic journey with the theme of "Having Fun and Having Fun, Adding Art to the New Tiger" kicked off in Xintiandi, Shanghai. It will be open to the public free of charge from now (24 February) until 20 February. The artists in this exhibition draw on the imagery of the traditional Chinese New Year "Zodiac Tiger", present the four art tigers of "Daji, Golden Fortune, Good Fortune and Wealth" in the whole territory of Shanghai Xintiandi with a very distinctive creative language, and through the use of AR technology and the sale of joint digital art collections, connect virtual and reality, lay out the meta-universe, and offer sincere New Year blessings to the public in the form of multi-dimensional interaction.
The reporter learned that during the entire event, Shanghai Xintiandi will hold more than 20 wonderful themed series of activities in the Year of the Tiger, covering the New Year Market, "Xintiandi Meet" community activities, public welfare exhibitions, intangible cultural heritage cross-border, DIY workshops, etc., so that the diversified trend ecology will collide with new sparks through cultural and social means, and stimulate the new vitality of urban space; at the same time, Xintiandi will also link up with merchants across the world to present New Year surprise gifts and consumer gifts, bringing citizens a comfortable and pleasant shopping experience.
Bold use of color, abundant creativity, vigorous positive energy... Xintiandi, together with Chinese avant-garde artist Song Santu, has created a series of art installations with distinctive image characteristics across borders, and distributed them throughout the whole territory of Shanghai Xintiandi, connecting them into a novel artistic experience and sensory enjoyment.
For example, the "Cosmic FAFA House" located in Xintiandi Plaza B1, with the garden scene as the design concept, let the New Year's taste return to the sense of ceremony; the bright colors and cute demeanor of the "Liangyuan Tiger" that stop at the entrance of The Shikumen Block of Xintiandi express people's beautiful desire for true love; the "Tiger Tiger Wishing Pool" in xintiandi fashion I outdoor plaza is an important work in this exhibition - with pink and red as the main colors, the 5-meter-high "Golden Luck Tiger" combined with fireworks bloom totem decoration New Year, in the "sparkling" By the Trevi Fountain, citizens can watch, pray, rest and linger in the neighborhood full of New Year's atmosphere. Standing outdoors in the Lakeside Road Shopping Center, the giant "Rich Tiger" with a height of 6 meters conveys the beautiful meaning of "carrying wealth and carrying tiger power", presenting a beautiful picture of its happy and harmonious New Year.
In the next one month, Xintiandi will also stage a New Year event with the theme of "New Year Good Color Head", bringing colorful citizens' experiences such as the New Year Flower Market, Flower Tiger Parade, and Non-Heritage Handicrafts, bringing citizens a full of New Year "Tiger" flavor.
During the Spring Festival, Xintiandi will also build the whole region into a digital twin art space through AR technology, where citizens can participate in interaction and immersive experience by scanning the code on their mobile phones, and extract up to 9 special customized NFT digital collections for the Year of the Tiger, and have the opportunity to get the "Ice tiger" created by the artist for the upcoming 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, cheering for Chinese Olympic athletes.
In addition, XINTIANDI launched the first virtual trend art IP "Wande Tiger" "Wande Tiger" evolved from the tiger image. This time, 1 classic model derived from the image, 5 Models of Xintiandi City, and 2 co-branded hidden models co-created with artist Song Santu also launched H5 for the first time, releasing digital virtual blind boxes to the public and encouraging consumers to participate in online interaction.
