As one of the largest AI computing centers in Asia, SenseTime AIDC officially launched operations in Shanghai on January 24, with a design peak hashrate of more than 3,740 Petaflops (1 Petaflop equals 100 quadrillion floating-point operations per second).
How fast is this peak hash rate? For example, SenseTime technicians said that after completion, the computing power of the platform can support simultaneous access to 8.5 million video channels, while meeting the needs of four super-large-scale cities with a population of more than 20 million people; it can process videos equivalent to 23,600 years in 1 day, which is equivalent to the length of uninterrupted recording from the late Paleolithic period to today.
Without any reference case experience and experimental site conditions, the artificial intelligence computing center AIDC opened pre-research in April 2018, officially started the project construction in July 2020, and completed the capping of the main structure in December of the same year, taking only 168 days from the start of construction to the topping.
AIDC is an important computing power base for SenseCore's AI device, which will provide surging computing momentum for industrial digital transformation, major scientific research breakthroughs and smart city construction, and is also a low-carbon new intelligent computing center best practice and low-cost algorithm production plant.
SenseTime AIDC, which started operation on the same day, was awarded the title of "Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Integration Empowerment Center" by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, which will further exert its own advantages and help the construction of artificial intelligence "Shanghai Highland".

After completion, the computing power of the platform can support the simultaneous access of 8.5 million video channels, and meet the needs of four super-large-scale cities with a population of more than 20 million.
