This afternoon, the second plenary session of the Sixth Session of the Fifteenth Municipal People's Congress was held, and Liu Xiaoyun, president of the Municipal High People's Court, delivered the "Report on the Work of the Shanghai Municipal High People's Court" at the meeting.

Liu Xiaoyun said that Shanghai courts have actively created a world-class business environment based on the rule of law, improved the centralized jurisdiction mechanism for bankruptcy cases, and driven development through service innovation, concluding 47,000 first-instance intellectual property cases, up 27% year-on-year. The Shanghai Intellectual Property Court concluded the "Peppa Pig" trademark infringement case to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese and foreign enterprises. Increase the punishment for intellectual property infringement, and apply punitive damages to cases such as trademark infringement by Unilever Limited, so that infringers can pay a price.

Liu Xiaoyun said that the court tried disputes involving Internet enterprises such as Pinduoduo, JD.com, Yihaodian and Xiaohongshu in accordance with the law, maintained a fair competitive environment, and guided the orderly development of new technologies, new formats and new models on the track of rule of law.
