Jensen Ackles revealed that he had a "terrible" time working with Jessica Alba on the 2000 TV series Dark Angel.
The "supernatural" actor appeared on the show as a regular in the second season, eventually becoming the final season. Alba plays a genetically enhanced super soldier and assassin who escapes her handling procedures and attempts to uncover the secrets of her past in the near future, somewhat apocalyptic America.
Earlier this week, Ackles spoke with Michael Rosenbaum on his "Inside You" podcast, unabashedly describing his negative experiences working with Alba. However, he didn't say she wasn't a nice person or unprofessional.
"It's horrible," Ackles said when asked what it was like to work with her on the show. "I'm not kidding. I've already told her in person. ”

He added: "I love Jesse and I know it contradicts what I just said... She was under tremendous pressure on that show. She's young, she's with [costar Michael Weatherly], and I believe, it's very volatile and causes some excessive stress on set. ”
More than two decades later, Ackles says he understands why Alba wasn't passionate about him when they first started working together.
"I was the new face on set and didn't really show up in the first season," he explained. "I came in and watched an episode, but then they wrote me as a regular for the second season. I'm new to the block, and I've been chosen by the protagonist. ”
The actor went on to clarify his defense, comparing their relationship to an arguing sibling.

"She's ready for me," he said.
"It's not that she doesn't like me. She just said, 'Oh, that's the pretty boy that the web brings, because that's what we need.' ’”
Eventually, their constant quarrel, which he called "attacking poison with fire," eventually led to mutual respect between them. As a result, they quickly developed a friendship. Alba doesn't like to be alone when her boyfriend isn't around, so she calls Ackles to accompany her and he has to be aware that it's "platonic".
"If I tried anything, she would kick my nuts," he joked. "She will, she's a very strong little fox spirit."
When his grandfather died during the show, he said she walked into his trailer and just held him for an hour to make him feel better.

Ackles' comments about the pressures his co-stars are under echoed by her previous comments about Marie Claire in 2012, when she revealed that she felt "objectified" on the show at the age of 19.
"I had a show [Fox's Dark Angel] premiere when I was 19," Alba explained. "Soon, because of the way I marketed, everyone formed a strong opinion about me. I should be sexy, this tough action girl. That's what people expect. ”
