author:Guo Yifang's heart is at the forefront

Hypertension is a chronic condition that requires long-term medication.

At present, the commonly used antihypertensive drugs in clinical practice are very safe, and we do not have to worry too much. But since it is a drug, there is a possibility of side effects, and antihypertensive drugs are no exception. So for common side effects, people who take antihypertensive drugs for a long time should have some understanding.

1. Dry cough, generally no sputum, no fever and other manifestations. If you have this symptom, see if you are taking a pripri drug (captopril, enalapril, benazepril, perdopril, fosinopril, etc.);

2. Edema of the foot and neck, which occurs simultaneously on both sides: it can occur in people taking dipenetic drugs, such as nifedipine, felodipine, amlodipine, nitronidipine;

3. Blushing, headache: Can also be seen in people taking horizon medications. The incidence is low and is usually seen when the drug is first taken. Symptoms will disappear after a few weeks of continued medication;

4. Itchy gums, hyperplasia: this is also a type of side effect of horizon drugs, but the incidence is very low;

5. Stand up dizzy and dark-eyed. This is a manifestation of orthostatic hypotension and can be seen in people taking A-blockers, such as prazosin, doxazosin, trazosin, etc.;

6. Weakness in both lower extremities, poor appetite, and even confusion: this may be a manifestation of severe hyponatremia and hypokalemia, which requires attention to whether you are taking diuretics (hydrochlorothiazide, indapamide, furosemide, etc.) or compound antihypertensive drugs containing diuretics. This situation mainly occurs in the elderly who are weaker, eat very few dishes, and eat too lightly, and generally young and middle-aged people rarely have this side effect;

7. Increased urine output: this can be done at the beginning of treatment with diuretics, and this symptom will disappear after several weeks of continued medication;

8. Male breast hyperplasia, manifested by breast itching, swelling and enlargement. This is one of the side effects of spironolactone (also called spironolone);

9. Pulse, heartbeat is too slow: people taking B-blockers (such as metoprolol, bisoprolol, atenolol, propranolol, etc.) may have this situation;

10. Dizziness, headache: People who originally have high blood pressure but no obvious symptoms, after taking antihypertensive drugs, their blood pressure drops significantly, some people will have dizziness and headaches and other uncomfortable symptoms, and taking short-acting antihypertensive drugs is more likely to occur. Taking long-acting antihypertensive drugs can avoid this by gradually lowering blood pressure over several weeks.
