Ancient Indian epics achieved a high degree of artistic performance, and the Ramasana is one of the most prominent examples.
This epic, in terms of plot composition, is not centered on events, but on the activities of the protagonist Luo Chen, and all the plots are related to him except for the independent plots interspersed in it. The activity of the protagonist determines the change of the epic, and a certain part of the basic plot of the epic is in the service of showing a certain aspect of the protagonist. In this respect, the Ramayana is very similar to Homer's epic poem, the Odyssey.
In terms of character shaping, the epic "Ramayana" adopts a combination of positive depiction and lateral foil. For example, Rama's broken bow is a positive depiction of his superiority in force, while the failure of the other heroes to draw the bow is a side of his strength; Rama's abdication of the throne is a positive celebration of his virtue; and the people chase him, and the god Indra gives him his chariot, weapons, and the imperial mada, so that he can win the battle against him, which is a side of his virtue. Because the two methods are repeatedly used, the strength and virtue of Rama are made more prominent.
In terms of environmental and landscape description, the Ramayana is extremely capable of rendering and beautifying. For example, when King Dasarota went to the harem to announce the news of Rama's throne, the description of the road to the harem was unusually magnificent. Combined with the natural scenery described by Rama's exile, it is even more vivid and beautiful, varied and intoxicating. This rendering and beautification of the environment and scenery in the epic is in harmony with the content of the praise of heroic virtue.
