The Marvel Cinematic Universe has thrown out many surprising appearances in its ever-expanding narrative, and there are characters who were never expected to see again after their initial launch. The top of this special list has to be Emile Bronski/Abominable, who seems destined to be a former character after taking on a role in the disjointed 2008 Episode The Incredible Hulk, and his return is a surprise for actor Tim Ross and anyone else. After brief appearances in Shangzhi and Legend of the Ten Rings, Ross will take on a more fleshy role in the upcoming Hulk series, and the actor is happy to return to the MCU after a thirteen-year absence.

"Well, honestly, that totally surprised me. I talked to Kevin Feige and he said, 'I have an idea. Come in, 'Really?' true? Because when I made the first Incredible Hulk movie, the first thing I did was do it for my kids," Ross told Uproxx.

Of course, since Rose first starred in The Incredible Hulk, the world of Marvel Studios has changed a lot. At the time, MCUs were still something that would come out of nowhere, and when Ross made the film, there was no film release to accurately gauge what worked or didn't. While the film itself became a lost child in the grand scheme of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Edward Norton's Bruce Banner was later replaced by Mark Ruffalo, with good effect, and only the character of Sardius Rose made it into the subsequent films, ross was shocked that it was no surprise that after such a long time, Rose had the opportunity to return to the role.

Tim Roth found working with Mark Ruffalo on She-Hulk a bonus.

Rose's appearance in Shangzhi and Legend of the Ten Rings required only him to voice the character for Abomination, but the role was a stepping stone to becoming a more engaged character in the Hulk series, and the actor found it exciting to return to the series and work with Mark Ruffalo and Tatiana Maslani. Ross explains:

"In a way, this is Iron Man's previous work. It hasn't come out yet. That's when they figured it out. Figured it out, 'Oh, that's what you did.' Then they solved. Some of them were better than others, anyway, but they worked it out. For me, Wolverine and Deadpool. So, it's just for my kids, when they're very young. Did it. So I was surprised when they came back and said, 'How will you feel...". I said, 'Yes. All right! We just filmed it, I guess it was last summer or somewhere. I think they're doing this in their posts right now, so whenever it comes. Also, I work with Mark Ruffalo. club. Who do I love. I don't know if I can say. Oh, I can say that. But this extraordinary woman, Tatiana [Maslani]... Incredible, that woman. So it was an explosion. This is crazy.

The Hulk is expected to premiere sometime in the summer, and fans can expect to see the first full trailer sometime in April or May at the end of the Moon Rider series.
