Recently, Ant Island Sanba Haitang was selected by the Provincial Water Conservancy Department as the first batch of typical cases of organic integration of water engineering and water culture in Zhejiang Province.
Ant Island is located in the southeast of the Zhoushan Islands, with a land area of about 3 square kilometers and a population of more than 3,000 people. At the beginning of liberation, the people of Ant Island worked hard to start a business, rubbed grass ropes, donated fire, self-raised funds to build large fishing boats to develop productive forces, and established the country's first people's commune. In 1972, more than 300 women on the island built the "March 8th" sea pond, which is 1300 meters long, 12 meters wide and 5 meters high, which has become a red flag on China's fishing front.
Sanba Haitang is a concentrated embodiment of the self-reliance and hard-working entrepreneurial spirit of Ant Island people, which embodies the hard work and sweat of Ant Island women. The construction of Haitang took one year and four months to complete, which was exactly half the time shortened by half of the original planned three-year construction period, and in order to commemorate the outstanding contributions of women, Haitang was named Sanba Haitang. In 2005, the former Ant Island Township Government erected 38 lampposts in Haitang, echoing the name sanba haitang. Haitang was reinforced and built in 2002, and the design moisture-proof standard reached a 50-year encounter, continuing to guard Ant Island with the times.
