The Theory of Yi Xie Quan - "Tai Chi Chuan Theory" (II)

author:Mind-to-body acting

Let's look at the second sentence: "Moving is divided, and still is combined"

Direct translation: When it is moved, it shows a tendency and state of separation and dispersion; after making it quiet, it presents a tendency and state of gathering and hugging.

Some friends will say that "the 'zhi' in the sentence is a virtual word, a structural stereotype of the ancient text." Initially, I agreed with this statement, but from the current experience, I will give another explanation:

Taijiquan belongs to one of the ways of human body movement, from the perspective of human movement elements, the completion of an action is always inseparable from the coordination and unity of consciousness (intention, information), kinetic energy (qi, energy), and body (shape, matter). Which element is dominant and which is subordinate needs to be carefully distinguished.

In fact, the theory of boxing has already given the answer: "The spirit of the king comes to the flesh and bones", "the intention of the qi is the leader, the shape of the shape is the dominant, the movement is subordinate to the intention of moving, the shape of the movement is subordinate to the movement; the form and the movement can not move on their own without the guidance of the "intention", which is like the army "order to prohibit", no order can not act, therefore, Taijiquan also emphasizes "intention first". The above is in terms of the human body dimension, and then expanded, from the overall environmental dimension to discuss, "meaning" is with the change of internal and external natural energy and movement, the ancients will be the internal and external natural energy called "innate fire".

Back to "moving is divided, still is combined" is:

"Moving is divided": a hint of movement, driving the dispersion of the fire, and then driving the dispersion of the body. And this "trace of movement" feels the "static pole life" of the energy in the body and around the body, and can also be said to be the "static pole life movement" of the "innate fire" inside and outside the body;

"Quiet is together": a hint of stillness, driving the aggregation of the chi, and then driving the aggregation of the body shape. And this "bit of stillness" feels in the body and surrounding energy "dynamic and extremely static", that is, "the static of the moving pole" of "innate fire".

In the change of motion and stillness, the "I" as a practitioner, including the "I" of the "I", is in a state of quiet, guarding and passive from beginning to end, and both movement and stillness are triggered by the dynamic and static changes of the external factor of "innate one flame", and "I" is only expressed and transmitted.

At this point, we can further explain "the movement is divided, and the static is combined", that is:

In the case of junior high school physics, "single pendulum movement" can be seen as a form of display of "innate fire", and we must also imitate this natural state when practicing boxing to reduce subjective and deliberate participation.

The Theory of Yi Xie Quan - "Tai Chi Chuan Theory" (II)

Echoing the previous text, movement is yang, static is yin, so that the movement of yin and yang can be unfolded in taijiquan, and the back standing pile, plate frame, push hand, and technique are all the results of the "innate fire" yin and yang movement.

Of course, when you first start practicing, limited by the low degree of loosening of the body, you do not have to deliberately pursue the above relatively difficult to understand the practice of boxing, but to have this concept, after the depth of the work, the body loosening degree is improved, you will really feel the existence of the above content. Here's the key point:

Tai Chi is an objective experience, not a subjective imagination!
