Gao Dexi, who worked at the Academy of Military Sciences, was awarded the rank of major general in 1955, but in 1966 he was branded a "counter-revolutionary" and imprisoned for eight years.

In 1982, Gao Dexi began to learn qigong, and in 1984, he was absorbed as a member of the Beijing Qigong Research Association.

In fact, when Gao Dexi was in Yan'an, he learned Taijiquan. But during the war years, he had very little time to practice. During the special era, he was labeled a "counter-revolutionary", but his eight years in prison became an excellent opportunity for him to practice Taijiquan. Perhaps it is with his "Tai Chi Gong" that he can survive until he is released from prison and rehabilitated.

In 1982, shortly after Gao Desi resumed work, a heart attack put him on the operating table again. After the operation, he was kept alive by a pacemaker.

In order to stand up as soon as possible and give a little light and heat to the revolution, the old general, with the support of others, entered the Qigong study class in the Summer Palace. Who knows, 3 months later, the miraculous effect appeared, his tree of life bloomed with vitality again, and he no longer needed to be helped by anyone when he walked, and Qigong gave the old general a second life!

The general's physical recovery is an excellent call in itself and a most persuasive teaching material. Several sick veteran comrades began to learn qigong from Gao Dexi, and the Academy of Military Sciences hired Gao Dexi as a counselor to set up a qigong class. Gradually, the number of "disciples" of the general increased, and the team continued to grow. Every morning and evening, in the square, on the side of the road, and in the courtyard of the family area of the Academy of Military Sciences, men and women, old and young, those wearing military uniforms, those not wearing military uniforms, those practicing alone and collectively, all paid full attention. Carefully pondering that trick and style, it seems that he has been instructed by a famous artist......

In 1984, after Gao Dexi was absorbed as a member of the Beijing Qigong Research Association, he became more active and attentive in the study of qigong. In his later years, in addition to writing his own revolutionary memoirs, he also carefully sorted out his articles on his experience and research results on qigong.
