A thief in Zhejiang was stuck in the sewer to call the police for help, and the fire opened 10 manhole covers to find him

At about 3:30 p.m. on the 19th, the Qingyuan County Fire Rescue Brigade received a special call for help: 110 police said that in the streets of Maozhou in Qingyuan County, a male thief had been hiding in the sewer for nearly 3 hours, and urgently needed firefighters to assist in finding rescue.

Firefighters arrived at the scene, learned about the situation from the public security department, locked the rescue range of about 600 meters along the street in Maozhou, and opened the manhole cover on the street one by one to search the well.

Mr. Yan, a member of the Qingyuan County Fire Brigade, introduced to the Jimu News reporter that due to the "all-round access" of the pipe network under the manhole cover, the oxygen content and visibility are low, and there may be biogas, each time it is necessary to first release the equipment for ventilation, and then the team members wearing professional protective equipment will go down to the well to search, and other team members will help set up rescue tripods and other equipment on the road surface to assist.

After descending the well, firefighters searched with flashlights while shouting at the trapped man. Mr. Yan said firefighters searched nearly a street range and opened nearly 10 manhole covers for the search.

At this moment, the man took the initiative to report to 110 that he was stuck in the narrow sewer and hoped to be rescued. "The sewer narrows as he gets to the end, and he can't turn back after moving forward, and he may have been stuck for this reason." Mr. Yan told reporters.

After determining the location of the trapped man, the firefighters quickly opened the manhole cover and set up professional equipment for deep well rescue to pull the trapped man up. The man's health was not seriously damaged, and he was handed over to the public security department for disposal.
