At the end of 2012, the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was closed, and the Old Cadres Bureau of the Dongcheng District Party Committee was ready to organize some newly retired old comrades who had a certain theoretical foundation and liked to preach, and through the propaganda, they led everyone to study the spirit of the 18th National Congress together. So on January 23 of the following year, the Dongcheng District Party Committee Veteran Cadre Propaganda Group was established in the Veteran Cadre Bureau.
In order to tell the story of the old party members' perseverance, Shi Xueqi, as the leader of the regiment, changed 18 drafts successively. The old cadres all encountered the problem of memory loss, and Shi Xueqi's method was also very simple - each manuscript had to be memorized more than 100 times. Usually write a small note in your pocket, ride to buy vegetables, and mutter a manuscript in your mouth. Every manuscript to be told to the audience must be tried in advance, and they are "reviewed" in the "Eighteen Arhats" like a "thesis defense".
It has been 9 years since the establishment of the Dongcheng Veteran Cadres Propaganda Group in January 2013. The average age of the preaching team is nearly 70 years old, with the oldest being 89 years old. From 8 people at the beginning, it has grown to 18 people now.
Later, driven and influenced by the propaganda group, sub-groups were also set up in various streets, and there were more than 100 "honorary" preachers. They have successively gone to streets, communities, organs, enterprises and institutions, and schools to give nearly a thousand voluntary lectures, and the audience reached 50,000 people.
Some friends have advised shi Xueqi: after working diligently for decades, it is time to take good care of the body and rest and rest. But he just couldn't stay idle. "I think I have been engaged in propaganda work for many years, and when I retire, I should also give full play to my strengths and do something for the society.
Shi Xueqi told the Beijing News reporter that he felt three kinds of forces from this activity: the power of public opinion, the power of moving, and the power of moving forward. "This event tells us how to keep pace with the times as a party media and how to be grounded. In the new historical period, we need the power of public opinion close to the people. Tell the stories around us, stimulate the strength in our hearts, and our old cadre propaganda team can also find new materials from these stories. ”
