  In March 2018, after the delivery of a batch of gear samples that he was responsible for research and development, he received feedback from customers that the installation effect was not good and the transmission vibration noise was abnormally obvious. At this time, it is less than 2 months before the time of its products to be launched. Zhang Qi led the team from Yuhuan to Liuzhou, Guangxi for the first time, to conduct field investigation and research, and re-analyze all the relevant data of the transmission.

  "During that time, we soaked in the laboratory almost every day, constantly experimenting and revising simulation models, did not sleep for several days and nights, and squinted in the laboratory when we were sleepy." Recalling the situation at that time, Zhang Qi still remembers it vividly.

  Kung Fu pays off. Only a week later, Zhang Qi and others came up with a set of solutions, and after being verified by the customer's vehicle test, the overall noise of the transmission was greatly reduced, which greatly shortened the development cycle of the product. At this point, Zhang Qi's hanging heart slowly let go.

  With a tenacity that does not give up, in the past seven years, Zhang Qi has overcome technical problems such as gear transmission vibration reduction and noise reduction, high-strength and low-noise gear material development, and high-precision planetary gear transmission.

  Outside of work, Zhang Qi likes to read and learn, but the way he reads books is different from ordinary people. He lists the books he wants to read recently, organizes them into a spreadsheet, and sorts them according to information such as authors and content introductions, and selects the books that need to be read the most.

  One person can go fast, but a group of people can go further. At the beginning of last year, Zhang Qi accepted the company's appointment to organize the establishment of a research and development team. A team of 15 people was quickly formed, and Zhang Qi, as the captain, was strict with everyone and was unambiguous. "Strict enough to be in a report, not a single punctuation can be wrong." He said.

  "Once, in order to solve the high noise problem of a gearbox, we did more than 100 sets of experiments in three months, and repeatedly compared and verified. Everyone thought it was no problem, but Teacher Zhang Qi said no. It is precisely because of his strict requirements for excellence that we have accumulated a large amount of valuable engineering experience and test data. Team member Lu Jianhua told reporters.

  In the end, the finished transmission was reduced by 5-8 dB on the original noise indicator. The seemingly inconspicuous numbers are a big step forward for the product in the professional world.

  Every Saturday afternoon, Zhang Qi also gave up his rest time and led everyone to hold a learning seminar, share cutting-edge technologies and academic journal papers related to mechanical transmission, and master skills in practice.

  Up to now, the team has completed the design and development of small differential assemblies, the research of vibration reduction and noise reduction of various automotive transmissions, the design and development of backlash gears for engines, etc., overcome a number of technical problems, and created huge economic benefits for the company.
