Heavenly sentient × keep walking: how should we choose before love dies?

After watching "Non-Stop Walking", I always wanted to write a film review to recommend this movie. I like the film's blandness like water, and I can slam the shock of the heart. However, because the emotions felt were too sad, he only kept in the verbal recommendation and did not write until he watched the full version of "Heavenly Love". Although the background, era and production country of the two films are different, the tragic ending of "Heavenly Love" and the emotional sadness brought by "Non-Stop Walking" make the warmth of the film's expression directly hit people's hearts.

"Heavenly Love" was first released in 1990, directed by Chen Musheng, produced by Du Qifeng, and starring Andy Lau, Wu Qianlian and Wu Mengda.

As one of the representatives of the old Hong Kong films, although "Heavenly Love" is full of black elements such as drag racing and mutual beatings, the poignant pure love story between the illegitimate children of the dancers and the rich women, and the overly eye-catching appearance of the male and female protagonists, make this film full of brotherly righteousness defined as a love movie.

Because of the disparity in identity, Hua Tsai and Jojo's love affair is destined to end in separation. At first, Hua Tsai refused with various means, but because of his good nature, he saw that the jojo who was crying by himself was guilty, so he accepted the relationship. After that, there is a more conventional plot arrangement, the two experience many storms, and finally return hand in hand, and are separated by Jojo's parents using personal relationships, until "the last day", the story ends with "amazing".

When the "last day" arrives unexpectedly, how to say goodbye to the person who is in love at the moment, but the future is destined to be missed? "Heavenly Love" gives a positive answer with a sad ending.

The "last day" is the day when Hua Tsai finds a trumpet to avenge his brother, and Jojo will also leave Hong Kong on the same day. No one understands the meaning of this day better than they do, but at the last moment, they decide not to run away, and they leave "love" until the last moment of life's demise.

The allegory of "white" in the film is contradictory, representing both pure love and death.

Hua Tsai gave the most complete ending he could give to jojo in love in "The Last Day". The white wedding dress, the vows in front of the church, the ring that represents her true heart, and Jojo's expectations for the future.

Jojo, wearing a wedding dress, saw Hua Tsai, who was constantly bleeding from the nose, and although he knew that the future was slim, he heard Hua Tsai's words before leaving: "If you want us to do anything in the future, ask God to give us." After that, he still chose to pray sincerely so that the love between the two people would continue until they parted forever.

In "Heavenly Love", love to the last moment of life is a choice of love before life dies, and "Walking Non-Stop" gives another option.

Released in 2008, "Non-Stop" is a drama film directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda and starring Hiroshi Abe, Yui Natsukawa, and Kiki Shirin. Due to the death day of the eldest brother, many people who have been away from their hometown for many years have returned home with their wives and stepsons, and the family has officially gathered together for the first time, but the atmosphere is not as warm as imagined, but the family always shows a sense of alienation.

At the beginning of the mother-daughter chat, mother Toshiko's sentence "Divorce with the living will be safer, at least hate the other party to separate" foreshadows the sense of alienation between people in the movie, and also makes the whole movie full of family warmth at the end.

The father who loves face, the mother with a knife mouth, the second son who is not attached to his hometown, the daughter-in-law who actively integrates into the daughter-in-law who finally decided to "go back and forth on the next day", the stepson who is not yet accustomed to the new family, the sister who likes to get together and disperse... The affection that should be dependent on each other but not too snuggled up to each other is warmed by Toshiko's "terrible" words in the end. This sentence is permeated with a warm heart: a family that can be born and separated may be able to face death more calmly.

"Non-Stop Walking" begins with the day of death and ends with the day of death, telling us that life is constantly losing, and at the same time telling us with new life that the bond between family members will not stop because of love.

It began as the death day of his brother Junpei, who died to save people. Liangduo took his wife and stepson home to visit the grave, and when he returned from the tomb sweeping, he saw yellow butterflies, and his mother told Liangduo that butterflies that did not die in winter would turn into yellow butterflies, but forgot who told him this legend. For the Ryodo family, Junpei is "lost", yukari and Koto are "new life".

At the end, Liangduo took his wife and children back to his hometown to visit the grave again, this time "lost" a lot of parents, and the "new life" was the daughter. On the way back, I saw the yellow-spotted butterfly again, and many people who once thought that "butterflies are butterflies" told their daughter about the legend of the yellow butterfly, but also forgot who told the story to themselves.

The legend of the yellow butterfly makes the two contradictory emotions of "alienation" and "intimacy" merge into one, and achieves a special warmth representing family affection.

In 2017, Kore-eda said in his novel of the same name that "life is always a little too late", which can be understood as a little slower than "losing" although we keep moving throughout our lives. Looking back at the whole movie, I hope that more people can see the love that fades before life dies from the "regret of confessing life", and also see it silently transmitted.
