The Savoie provincial prosecutor's office said Ullier was hospitalized on Tuesday after an accident in the Rosier ski area of Savoie province. The actor's agent's office said Yulier died on Wednesday. It didn't provide any details.
Local broadcaster France Bleu said he was hospitalized with a skull injury and apparently he collided with another skier at an intersection on the slopes. According to France's Blue, another skier was not hospitalized. Police and prosecutors were reluctant to discuss the details of the accident.
The mountain police department, which serves the scene of the accident, said it had to carry out five or six rescues a day in recent days as the snow hardened.
In the neighbouring Haute-Savoie area, a 5-year-old girl was killed by a skier on Saturday. According to prosecutors in Haute-Savoie, the man was initially charged with manslaughter and said speeding could have been the cause of the accident.
