On the 18th, China News Network learned from Wang Kangfu's lawyer Zhang Xiaoli that on the afternoon of the same day, she and Wang Kangfu's younger daughter Wang Zhenzhen went to the Jiangxi Provincial High People's Court to appeal again again about Wang Kangfu's rape case. "The appeal materials have been successfully submitted and the court said it will conduct further review."
In 1966, Wang Kangfu, a 24-year-old primary school teacher in Lianhua County, Jiangxi Province, was charged with raping and molesting 12 female students, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Lianhua County Court in the first instance. According to the verdict of the first instance, Wang Kangfu took the opportunity to rape and molest female students on the grounds of "tuina to cure diseases" and "teach swimming".
"I didn't rape a female classmate." Wang Kangfu said that there was no evidence that he raped and molested, and during the interrogation, he was repeatedly told that he would emphasize evidence and confess lightly, so that he would admit anything. "As a result, one after another, almost all the girls in the class were confessed, and it was not until the prosecution that they found out that it was a lie."
After the first-instance judgment, Wang Kangfu appealed, and then the Ji'an District Intermediate People's Court upheld the original judgment in the second instance. In 1975, Wang Kangfu ended his sentence a year earlier. In 1978, he began filing a complaint with the Lotus County Court.
In 1979, Wang Kangfu contacted several female students involved in the case that year, and the female students told Wang Kangfu that they had written the whistle-blowing materials under the guidance of two other teachers that year, and did not know that Wang Kangfu was sentenced to prison for this reason.
In 1980, the Lianhua County Court rejected the complaint after review. Wang Kangfu was not satisfied and continued to appeal.
In 1986, the Ji'an District Intermediate People's Court and the Ji'an Procuratorate organized a joint investigation team on this complaint. Wang Kangfu himself said that the conclusion of the investigation report seen from time to time shows that "the case is found to be undocumented, the denial is unfounded, the facts are unclear, the evidence is insufficient, and it is difficult to determine the crime of rape with the existing evidence, and it is recommended to revoke the original judgment and correct it."
The following year, the "Notice on Replying to Wang Kangfu's Appeal in Lianhua County" issued by the Ji'an District Intermediate People's Court did not adopt this conclusion: the facts of the crime determined by the original first and second instance trials were repeatedly verified and verified, and although the existing victims denied the original report, this was through your collusion and therefore could not be used as evidence. Upon discussion and decision by the adjudication committee of this court, the original first- and second-instance judgments are upheld.

In the following years, Wang Kangfu continued to appeal to procuratorates, courts and other units at all levels in Jiangxi.
According to previous media reports, in 1999, Lianhua County was no longer part of Ji'an City, but was transferred to Pingxiang City, and the Jiangxi Provincial High Court transferred the case to the Pingxiang Intermediate People's Court through a letter of letter of referral. The following year, the Pingxiang Intermediate People's Court rejected the appeal on the same grounds as the Ji'an District Intermediate Court in 1987. In 2004, the Pingxiang Intermediate Court claimed that it was not the court of final appeal and had no jurisdiction over the case, so it transferred the case back to the Ji'an Intermediate Court, which informed Wang Kangfu of the need to appeal to the Provincial High Court, but the Provincial High Court did not reply.
In 2016, after a number of media reports, Wang Kangfu's appeal entered the public eye. In May 2020, the Jiangxi Provincial People's Procuratorate accepted the complaint, and at the end of July, the Jiangxi Provincial People's Procuratorate suspended the review on the grounds that it was "unable to access the original case file materials.". In April 2021, the Jiangxi Provincial People's Procuratorate rejected the appeal after finding that "the basic facts found in the original first- and second-instance judgments were clear, the basic evidence was sufficient, and the handling was appropriate" and rejected the appeal.
Wang Zhenzhen revealed that after the Jiangxi Provincial People's Procuratorate rejected the complaint, in May, her father, Wang Kangfu, frequently sent complaint materials to the Supreme People's Procuratorate. After submitting the appeal materials, the Supreme People's Procuratorate 12309 sent a text message to it on September 26, 2021: If the conditions for acceptance are met, our hospital will accept the appeal according to law. The progress of handling or the results of handling shall be replied to by the specific undertaking department within 3 months from the date of receipt of the materials. Since then, the Supreme People's Procuratorate has replied twice on December 17, 2021 and January 5, 2022, respectively, to the message "Handling, wait patiently".

"My dad's body is no longer working." Wang Zhenzhen said that since December 20, 2021, Wang Kangfu has been hospitalized twice, both of which have difficulty breathing, and after being hospitalized on January 3 this year, the doctor has issued a critical illness notice.

Wang Zhenzhen said that the staff of the Jiangxi Provincial Higher People's Court accepted the review materials and said that they would conduct further examinations. In response to her father Wang Kangfu's desire to file a case for a retrial, Wang Zhenzhen said she "felt that the hope was greater."
Zhang Xiaoli said, "The difficulty of the case is that the age is indeed relatively old, and secondly, the appeal case is already more difficult to correct, so the time may not be so fast." At the same time, she also said that she and Wang Kangfu have great expectations for the Jiangxi Provincial High Court.
It is reported that Wang Fei, another lawyer representing the case, was a defense lawyer for the retrial of the Zhang Yuhuan case in Jiangxi. According to media reports, Wang Fei rushed to Jiangxi again because he "hoped to help Wang Kangfu overturn the case."
