China's ambassador to the UK: Inciting anti-China sentiment is a reversal of history.

"We must not let them succeed!"

On January 19, local time, Chinese Ambassador to the UK Zheng Zeguang pointed out at the general meeting of the british Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Chamber of Commerce that those forces that create rumors to slander China, incite anti-China sentiments, and obstruct normal exchanges and cooperation between China and the UK are driving a historical reversal and going against the common will of the two peoples. We must not let them succeed!

Zheng Zeguang stressed that the achievements of Sino-British economic and trade cooperation are not easy to come by, and they need careful care from the governments and enterprises of the two countries, and they cannot sit back and wait for the sky to fall. A good political environment is crucial for China-UK economic and trade cooperation. The Chinese government, as always, welcomes foreign investment, including the UK, supports the development of China-UK economic and trade cooperation, and will continue to improve the market-oriented, rule-of-law and international business environment. The British side should also abide by the concept of free trade and WTO rules to provide a fair, just and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises to operate in the UK.

Zheng Zeguang stressed: In handling state-to-state relations, China has always advocated that countries should not interfere in each other's internal affairs. China has never interfered in the internal affairs of other countries, and at the same time resolutely opposes interference in China's internal affairs by any country or force. There is no way out of closure and confrontation, but openness and cooperation are the right way.

Zheng Zeguang also said that the cooperation between enterprises is also inseparable from the support of industry organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce. It is hoped that the British Chinese Chamber of Commerce, 48 group clubs, the British-Chinese Trade Association and other industry organizations of the two countries will continue to play an active role and build a better dialogue bridge and cooperation platform for enterprises of the two countries. We all hope that the epidemic will pass as soon as possible and that direct exchanges between the two state-owned enterprises and the people of the two countries can resume as soon as possible. The Chinese Embassy in the UK will continue its efforts to facilitate and support cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.
