Macheng Is a county-level city administered by Huanggang City, Hubei Province, and is a county, city and district with the largest population (over one million) and the highest economic aggregate in Huanggang City. Located in the southern foothills of the middle section of the Dabie Mountains at the junction of the three provinces of Eyu and Anhui, Macheng is an important transportation node city in the central region and a comprehensive transportation hub city planned by the Hubei Provincial Government. In 2021, the Macheng 106 National Highway Bypass Road was completed and opened to traffic, and the project connected Yanhe Town, Gulou Office, Nanhu Office, Zhongguanyi Town, and ended in Songbu Town, with a total length of 35.97 kilometers. The construction standard is a first-class highway, with a roadbed width of 24.5 meters, four lanes in both directions, and a design speed of 80 km / h.

The city's registered population is more than 1.1 million, and the permanent population is about 900,000 people, of which Baiguo Town is the largest town in Macheng. Baiguo Town has a registered population of 94,000 people, which will be the first township in Macheng to have a population of more than 100,000.
Baiguo Town is located in the south of Macheng City, the western foothills of Dabie Mountain, adjacent to Yanjiahe Town in the east, connected to Fuzihe Town and Wuhan Xinzhou District in the south, bordered by Zhongguanyi Town and Tiemen Township in the west, adjacent to Nanhu Street in the north, and the town government is 10 kilometers away from Macheng District, with a superior geographical position. Baiguo Town has a developed stone industry and the economy ranks among the best in the townships. However, compared with Songbu Town, Zhongguanyi Town and other townships along the Mawu Expressway, the road traffic in Baiguo Town is not developed.

The highway S206 provincial highway that Baiguo Town relies on is the fastest and most convenient road connecting Macheng to National Highway 318, and is an important transportation artery for cargo transportation and personnel traffic. However, the construction standards of 206 Provincial Highway are low, the road width is narrow, and the design speed is slow, which is difficult to meet the requirements of stone industry transportation and resident travel, both in terms of traffic carrying capacity and traffic safety.

Recently, the Macheng City Transportation Bureau reported for the construction of the S206 Macheng Urban Area to Baiguo Section Reconstruction Project (Project No. Ejiaofa [2021] No. 206), with an estimated investment of 350 million yuan. S206 Macheng Urban Area to Baiguo Section Reconstruction Project Survey and Design Project, starting from Macheng City District and ending in Baiguo Town, the total length of the route is about 10 kilometers. The project is built according to the standard of two-way four-lane vehicle first-class highway, with a design speed of 80km/h, asphalt concrete pavement, and a subgrade width of 25.5 m.
Grade I highway
Baiguo Town is the sub-center of Macheng City, sitting on the central stone circular economy industrial park, with a developed industrial economy, a relatively close distance from Macheng District, and the conditions for integrating with Macheng City. This project will greatly improve the traffic conditions of Provincial Highway 206, and the urbanization integration of Baiguo Town and Macheng District will be accelerated.
