According to the US "World Journal" report, for the death of Asians pushed into the railroad tracks in The Times Square in Manhattan, New York, on the 15th, a number of Chinese elected officials issued a statement condemning the atrocities and calling on the city government to strengthen supervision of the MRT system. In response to the recent resurgence of cases involving Asian victims, they called for attention to be paid to anti-Asian violence and to take effective measures to address the endless attacks.

State Senator Liu Said that although 2022 has entered, Asians are still suffering from ruthless and hateful attacks. A 75-year-old Korean-American was knocked down and injured by a strange man near a forest hill for no reason; Mr. Park, 59, who kindly took off his coat in Midtown to give to a homeless person who fell on a street corner in the cold weather, was beaten and robbed by the other side; and Mr. Ma, a 61-year-old Chinese man who was attacked last year, also died last month.

Mayor Eric Adams has given promises to address public policing, but hate has nothing to do with who is in power, and Liu said New York needs to take immediate action to provide psychological counseling to those who need it.

City Councilwoman Wong of Flushing's 20th District said the Asian community was once again saddened by the occurrence of such cases, and that the horrific chain of subway shoving incidents and anti-Asian hate crimes was demanding that the city take immediate action to tighten surveillance of the subway.

Congressman Meng Zhaowen said he was shocked by the heinous crime and heartbroken by the woman's death, and that this "terrible and senseless tragedy" was constantly happening in New York.

She said the case highlights the indispensable link between mental health services and the demographics they target to ensuring the safety of all people on public transport. (Zhang Chen)
