Nineteen years ago, this 3-year-old girl died, and no one was spared from sin

author:Eun Seol's light healing eats light

Today I want to talk about a case.

The death of Li Siyi, a 3-year-old young girl in Chengdu.

Since I saw this incident when I brushed the news a few days ago, my heart has been blocked for several days.

Originally thought it was just another social news that made people sigh.

But I couldn't forget it for days.

This is the most heartbreaking case I have ever written about.

Frankly speaking, it is not a hot spot at the moment, and it has nothing to do with entertainment stars, social current events, etc.

This case happened 19 years ago.

Si Yi, a 3-year-old girl, did not even leave a photo.

But the thought of her made my heart feel bad.

Everyone around me knows that I especially like children.

My little niece is now about the same age as when Si Yi left.

Chubby and very cute.

Nineteen years ago, this 3-year-old girl died, and no one was spared from sin

Every day, I get very careful care from my parents, brothers and nannies, and I am also the favorite of all my relatives and friends.

But what about SiYi?

I can't bypass my conscience as if I hadn't seen it.

I want to write down this case and commemorate this little elf who has been in the world for only 3 years and died in extreme pain.

Her death questioned the conscience of every Chinese.

01 The Death of Li Siyi - Whose Fault?

On the evening of June 21, 2003, residents of Building 65, Qingjiang West Road, Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu, chatted and played mahjong in the courtyard as usual.

For several days they had been smelling a strange "stench" that was unbearable, so they began to look for the source.

After looking for a long time, I finally found that the "smell" came from No. 25 on the first floor of the third unit. Here lives a single mother who uses drugs, Li Guifang, and her three-year-old daughter, Li Siyi.

They remembered that they had not seen the mother and daughter for a long time, so they immediately reported the situation to the director of the family committee.

The director of the PTA rushed to the scene, felt that the situation was not good, and immediately reported to the police.

After receiving the alarm, the police of the Tuanjie Village Police Station of the Qingbaijiang District Public Security Substation immediately rushed to the scene. The police entered the kitchen from the balcony and then entered the living room through the kitchen.

After entering the living room, the police found that the open lock of the wooden door of the master bedroom was tied by a green yarn rope. The police untied the lock on the door of the master bedroom, and then the police tried to push the door of the master bedroom, felt the resistance, pushed halfway, and found that there was a body of a little girl behind the door.

Nineteen years ago, this 3-year-old girl died, and no one was spared from sin

A subsequent autopsy revealed that the deceased "had mostly lost his hair ... The body is highly decayed, the abdomen and limbs are leather-like, and there are a large number of maggots attached to the head, face, neck and perineum..."

The autopsy also ruled out the possibility of Li Siyi's death from violent blows and from poisoning, and the police, prosecutors and judges unanimously inferred that Li Siyi died of hunger and thirst.

Speaking of this, Kang Xiaoguang's eye circles, who had seen the scene photos, immediately turned red, and his voice trembled with a dumb voice: "I can't bear to see it." ”

Post-mortem investigations by the police, prosecutors' offices and courts showed that the facts of the case were extremely simple.

On June 4, two of Li Guifang's friends invited her to lunch. She brought the children with her and the 4 of them had lunch together.

Half a bowl of white rice and a bowl of radish rib soup, this is the last meal That Li Siyi ate. It was around 11 a.m.

During the meal, the three adults agreed to go to Jintang County to "find some money". After that, Li Guifang sent the child home first. Li Siyi was sick in those days, and she went to the hospital for injections in the morning, and when she returned home, she lay on the bed and fell asleep quickly.

Li Guifang tied the door of the master bedroom with a green wool rope, then locked the door and went out. It was more than 1 p.m.

After arriving in Jintang County, Li Guifang went to a supermarket alone. She stole two bottles of shampoo from the supermarket, and the security guard reported the case to the Jintang County Public Security Bureau's suburban police station. Huang Xiaobing, a police officer on duty, rushed to the supermarket to take Li Guifang back to the police station.

With the professional sense of smell of the police, Huang Xiaobing saw that Li Guifang was a drug addict and offered to have a urine test. Huang Xiaobing asked Deputy Director Wang Xin for approval.

Urine test result is positive. In the first transcript, li Guifang told Huang Xiaobing that there was only one little girl in the family and no one to take care of her.

Huang Xiaobing reported to Wang Xin on Li Guifang's urine test and asked whether to implement compulsory drug rehabilitation. Wang Xin approved again.

This is around 5 p.m. on June 4. Huang Xiaobing also reported to Wang Xin that there was a little girl in Li Guifang's home who was left unattended.

Huang Xiaobing also verified Li Guifang's situation with the Tuanjie Village police station. This was the first phone call received by the Tuanjie Village police station related to the case, and it was Mu Yu, a student at the Chengdu Police Academy who was interning here.

Wang Xin also asked Wu Shijian, the duty leader of the Jintang County Public Security Bureau at that time. Wang Xin's report to Wu Shijian stated that Li Guifang had a child left unattended, but Wu Shijian still approved Li Guifang's compulsory drug rehabilitation.

In this way, the procedures for Li Guifang's compulsory drug rehabilitation are complete.

At about 22:00 p.m., the suburban police station dispatched two police cars to escort Li Guifang and another drug addict surnamed Liu to a drug rehabilitation center in Chengdu. Li Guifang was in the first police car, and Wang Xin was the driver.

According to Li Guifang's own statement, she pulled on the car door and refused to get into the car, begging Wang Xin to let her go home first to settle the child.

After getting on the bus, she still kept begging her to go back to her home when passing through the Qingbai River, settle the children in before walking with them. She also asked Wang Xin to call her second sister and ask her to help take care of the child.

But despite Li Guifang's repeated requests, no one heeded her.

From Jintang County to Chengdu, the Qingbai River is the only way to go. Li Guifang is very familiar with this road. When she found that the car had crossed the Qingbai River, she began to hit the door with her head continuously.

In this case, Wang Xin finally agreed to call. Li Guifang told Wang Xin the phone number of her sister's home.

Wang Xin asked Lu Xiaohui, who was in the same car, to call Li Guifang's sister. Lu Xiaohui called, but no one answered.

Wang Xin also asked Lu Xiaohui to find the duty telephone number of the Tuanjie Village police station. The call was also made, and it was Mu Yu who answered the phone.

It was around 10:30 p.m. on June 4, which was the second call received from the Tuanjie Village police station related to the case. Based on the duty records of the police station and the records of the Telecommunications Bureau, the court confirmed the call.

In this incident, the Tuanjie Village police station twice received calls from the suburban police station, they knew that Li Guifang was forced to rehabilitate, but also knew the situation of Li Guifang's family, and the Tuanjie Village police station was less than 200 meters away from Li Guifang's second sister's home and only one block away from Li Guifang's home, but they did nothing.

After completing the formalities at the drug rehabilitation center, it was the early morning of June 5. Before Wang Xin left the drug rehabilitation center, Li Guifang once again asked Wang Xin to implement the child's affairs. Wang Xin said he had told the Tuanjie Village police station.

Subsequently, Wang Xin and the others returned to Jintang County, and when they passed the Qingbai River again, they also did not stop.

The next morning, Huang Xiaobing was on duty. At about 9 a.m., Wang Xin and Lu Xiaohui asked Huang Xiaobing to contact the Tuanjie Village police station again, and Huang Xiaobing replied that he had contacted.

According to Huang Xiaobing, he called the Tuanjie Village police station. However, the Unity Village police station did not admit it, and the telecommunications bureau could not find the record of the call.

According to the law, Huang Xiaobing should deliver the "Notice of Compulsory Drug Rehabilitation" to Li Guifang's family, his unit and the police station of his place of residence within three days, but Huang Xiaobing did not send it.

After the incident, people found that the 3 notices were still lying in the drawer of his desk.

From the morning of June 5 until the evening of June 21, no one paid any attention to this matter, whether it was the police station on the outskirts of Jintang County or the police station in Tuanjie Village in Qingbaijiang District.

In this way, from noon on June 4 to the evening of June 21, three-year-old Li Siyi was locked in her home alone.

02 How she died slowly

It was found that there were marks on the door that her hands had scratched, her nails were damaged to varying degrees, and all the cabinets had traces of being rummaged.

She may have been frightened at night and once hid in the closet. Through the marks on the ground, the feces and urine were carefully placed in the state of toilet paper, and the little girl had been surviving and slowly dying.

The little girl collapsed behind the bedroom door, her young body already decomposing, and it is estimated that she may have experienced an extremely painful struggle before her death because of hunger, thirst, loneliness and fear and despair.

It was the summer heat, there was no water in the house, no electricity, and the only thing that accompanied Si Yi was a shabby bear in the corner of the house.

Nineteen years ago, this 3-year-old girl died, and no one was spared from sin

After forensic examination, her little foot had been kicked and swollen, there was a piece of paint falling off behind the door, there were several thin blood marks on the door, the nails of her right hand were damaged to varying degrees, her throat was red and swollen, and the wardrobe was turned over, as if looking for something to eat.

There is a small stool in front of the bedroom window, but the window is not open, and it is very difficult for adults to open this window after the crime.

Through the traces on the ground, the state of feces and urine (carefully placed in toilet paper), experts believe that the little girl has been surviving and slowly dying, and this desperate death is more cruel than any torture in the world.

And may be frightened at night, because according to the traces, the little girl seems to have been hiding in the closet at night, the long night is long, there is nowhere to say bleak...

Neighbors said that the child has a very nice name - Li Siyi (sound), and looks very cute: round face, big eyes, always with two small ponytails on the head, when he sees young people, he calls uncles and aunts, and when he sees the elderly, he calls grandparents, which belongs to the kind of elf who is very well-behaved and very attractive.

However, the child's life is very unfortunate: her mother Li Guifang has been using drugs for a long time.

About 10 years ago, Li Guifang's ex-husband was sentenced for killing someone, Li divorced his ex-husband, and the son born to the two was sentenced to be raised by her ex-husband, and then Li wandered in society and became addicted to drugs.

Li's social relations are very complicated, Xiao Siyi is whose children the neighbors do not know, only that there is a bald man who often comes to visit Xiao Siyi, and Xiao Siyi calls the person "Daddy".

But this "dad" has not come to see Xiao Siyi for several months.

Poor Little Siyi did not have a hukou until her death, the house where Li Guifang lived was left to her by her father, and the living expenses of the whole family depended on Li Guifang's old father's monthly pension of more than 500 yuan.

Since the death of Father Li, the life of the mother and daughter has become very difficult, and the mother and daughter often starve together.

It is said that there was once a family that adopted Xiao Siyi for a period of time, but because Li Guifang often went there under the pretext of asking for something, Xiao Siyi was finally sent back.

Neighbors want the second sister of the Li family, who still has some contact with Li Guifang, to adopt Xiao Siyi, but the husband of the second sister originally did not like her to interact with Li Guifang, and even if he adopted a child, he was afraid of being entangled with Li Guifang.

Some people have also reported the situation of Xiao Siyi to the children's welfare home, but the response of the children's welfare home is that Xiao Siyi has a mother who does not meet the conditions for adoption, which eventually leads to the end of Xiao Siyi's adoption and acceptance.

Three-year-old children are in need of nutrition and long body, because there is no source of income, Li Guifang in order to supplement the child's nutrition, often to the nearby supermarket or grocery store to steal bread, soy milk, caught she cried and begged for forgiveness ...

According to a woman who runs a tea shop in the community, Li Ping still loves this daughter very much, but she has no money in her hands and cannot take good care of her daughter.

Several other neighbors reflected: "Li often leaves home and does not know what to do, and locks her daughter at home before going out..." Xiao Siyi lay at the window every day, waiting hopefully for her mother to bring her food back.

The welfare home refused to adopt her, and neighbors and relatives refused to adopt her, but the child's innocent spirituality could not be closed, and what she saw from the window was not darkness, but a patch of sunlight.

Xiao Siyi also often leaned out of the window to greet passers-by, and sometimes well-meaning residents handed the hungry little girl something to eat through the window, perhaps accustomed to this kind of life, this child usually does not like to cry.

03 I have never felt such a sense of shame and guilt in my life

After her grandfather's death, Li Guifang was Li Siyi's only reliance. Li Guifang had no job, had been taking drugs for a long time, and was sentenced for drug trafficking, and was still on probation at the time of the crime.

Li Guifang has no job, and apart from sporadic assistance from relatives and neighbors, the rest of her income comes from theft, drug trafficking and direct or disguised prostitution.

The director of the parent committee said that Li Guifang is the most rejected and despised person in the whole community. "Her friends are messy people, and she only interacts with these social scum."

No one interacted with her, and she was self-aware and never interacted with her neighbors.

The local civil affairs department refused to give their mother and daughter a minimum guarantee treatment on the grounds that Li Guifang was taking drugs; the women's federation believed that "the main task of the women's federation is to safeguard women's rights and interests, and the protection of children's rights and interests should be mainly the responsibility of the Communist Youth League." The children's welfare home refused to accept Li Siyi because she was not an orphan and she had a mother; relatives refused to adopt her; even if someone wanted to adopt a child, they were scared away by her drug-addicted mother.

Li Siyi was often locked in her home alone, often starving, and at a young age she learned to beg her neighbors outside the window through the iron railing.

The forensic doctor's autopsy report also confirmed that Li Siyi was "generally developed and less nutritionally". People can't remember when the power company stopped powering her home.

Undoubtedly, in the case of Xiao Siyi's death, the lack of government responsibilities and social welfare was highlighted.

At a time when the guardian is obviously unable to perform his duties, no unit or individual in a big China can take on the responsibility of raising a child!

In Western society, children are the public property of the whole society.

Parents who are manifestly unable to perform their duties are immediately deprived of custody in order to protect the rights and interests of their children.

Ten thousand steps back, Li Guifang is certainly hateful, but how did she get addicted to drugs?

Husbands go to jail for murder, divorce and lose children, wander around society, make inconsistencies with friends, until they lose their jobs...

No money, no income, despised by everyone, not to mention raising children, even food can not afford to eat...

She didn't take drugs for stimulation, nor did she start out with heinousness.

Perhaps, the misery of fate makes her only choose to numb herself in this way until she slides into the abyss of fate.

She and her children deserved to be assisted by the social security system, but the hard truth is that they did not receive any assistance!

The symbol of a society's civilization is not how many high-rise buildings have been built and how much GDP is high, but in the protection of the weakest people in this society.

One netizen wrote: "Today, a human being who has come out of the dark ages of ignorance and roughness for hundreds of years, in a city full of food supermarkets and water filling every pipe, in a building full of people, in a laneway only 100 meters away from the police, in the kneeling cries of a mother begging the police to take care of her child who is locked up in the house, let a three-year-old helpless life slowly die in hunger and thirst... I have never felt such a sense of shame and guilt in my life. ”

"A nation allows its weakest to die in this way. I don't think I can afford to lose this face. ”

"What is the point of such a world being prosperous? How can it make people love, make people nostalgic, make people yearn? ”

04 Our child- Li Siyi

Xiao Siyi's death shocked the public.

Many ordinary people spontaneously launched a moral self-help activity on the Internet, built a memorial website for Xiao Siyi, and many people even voluntarily went on a hunger strike for a day to experience Xiao Siyi's plight, and people wrote a surging tide of poems and elegy.

Nineteen years ago, this 3-year-old girl died, and no one was spared from sin

"You starved to death in a happy time when you were full of wine and food"

"Child, if birth is accidental, and death is fate,

So your short life,

What a terrible misunderstanding

……

When you cry

The ears of the world are collectively lost."

"God, if you really exist

We have come to knock on your heaven's door

Knock on the door and accept it

A poor three-year-old girl

Lonely soul

Please give her a kingdom of freedom

A kingdom that will not be lonely

A kingdom without hunger and pain

A kingdom that will not have numb indifference

A kingdom where there will be no fear of terror."

A scholar in Beijing did not stay in sadness and indignation, and with the spirit of a scholar who asked the truth and asked many questions, he went to Chengdu to conduct field investigations, and when he returned, he wrote a book with tears of blood. He printed it at his own expense and gave it to people who could read it.

The author, Kang Xiaoguang, a researcher at the Center for National Conditions Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said in the book: "The scene of three-year-old Xiao Siyi dying in front of the door has always lingered. She was going to open the door, and that was the only way for her to live. What's outside the door? Just outside the door are you and me, every living Chinese! The three-year-old couldn't open the door, and we pretended to be deaf and dumb outside. Finally, the door did not open, and Xiao Siyi died behind the door. ”

The title page of the book reads "No one is spared from sin, we are Li Siyi's hell!" ”

Kang Xiaoguang said that the people of the Li family are ordinary workers, have no money, no power, no culture, do not know what rights they have, and do not know how to fight, and belong to the typical social bottom.

And Li Siyi is the weakest of the weak.

All the promises made to her by the government and society had not been fulfilled, but there was nothing she could do, not even the possibility of protest.

But the injustices she has suffered, the disadvantages she has faced, are the reality that all the weak face together.

Shouting for the silent and defending the rights of the powerless are the most serious social and political problems we face.

Nineteen years have passed since then.

I don't know if the regulations are more humane, I think there should be improvements.

But poor Si Yi, Auntie really feels sorry for you.

Didn't protect you.

You came into this world without getting the care you deserved, without tasting the happiness you deserved.

And left in such a tragic way.

Auntie couldn't think deeply about how scared, how uncomfortable, how painful you were in those few days.

When I think about it, my heart is like a knife.

Lovely little elf, may you sleep well, and may there be no more hunger and fear in heaven.

Please help like and forward it so that the tragedy of Xiao Siyi will not repeat itself!
