On the same day, the launching ceremony of the Beijing Municipal Primary and Secondary School Students' Simulated Winter Olympics and the "Seeing Words as Faces and Dialogue the Winter Olympics" activity was held.

At the launching ceremony, representatives of junior high school students from seven schools, including Beijing Middle School, proposed that children across the country and the world "meet up, write up, and move" to cheer for the Athletes of the Winter Olympics in the form of watching the games from a screen; send blessings to their favorite athletes and the Winter Olympics in the form of handwritten letters, and share the harvest; carry forward the Olympic spirit in the form of snow on the ice and participate in the Winter Olympics; strengthen their physique and temper their will. After the launching ceremony, the simulated Winter Olympics activities officially began, and students from some primary and secondary schools experienced fun projects such as snow one-legged relay race, snow pull rope pull race and flat sliding relay race.

The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Education Commission said that on the occasion of the opening of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the organization of the "See the Letter as Faces , Dialogue with the Winter Olympics" letter exchange activities and simulated Winter Olympics, on the one hand, is to call on children to pay attention to and support the Beijing Winter Olympics, with watching games, handwritten letters, ice and snow and other forms of cheering for the Winter Olympics, on the other hand, to let children deeply understand the great significance of the country hosting the Winter Olympics, strengthen cultural self-confidence, deepen their love for their hometown and the country.

It is understood that in response to the call to "drive 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports", since 2017, the "Ice and Snow into The Campus" series of promotion and popularization activities and experience classes have entered more than 600 schools in 16 districts, covering more than 500,000 students. Li Binzi said that he hopes that the Olympic global concept of eternal excellence, fair competition, truce and peace can have a broader impact on the world today with the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics. Another initiator, Wei Shijun from the Affiliated Experimental Middle School of Beijing Normal University, said that he had made an appointment with his parents and friends to watch the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics together, and he would use the winter vacation to participate in skating, skiing and other sports, and use his own actions to cheer for the Winter Olympics.
