Sun Huan: Complaining that his father Sun Yat-sen broke up the marriage, did not accept the gift money after remarriage, and did not see the last side

At 9:30 a.m. on March 12, 1925, Dr. Sun Yat-sen died in Tieshi Hutong, Beijing.

At the end of his life, he gave his wife Song Qingling a photo and asked Song Qingling to take it as a souvenir for his beloved daughter Sun Wan.

Song Qingling followed his instructions to write the English names of Sun Wan and her husband Dansai in Chinese and English on the front of the photo, and signed his name and date under the photo.

Sun Huan: Complaining that his father Sun Yat-sen broke up the marriage, did not accept the gift money after remarriage, and did not see the last side

During the period when Sun Yat-sen was ill and hospitalized in Beijing, he had always been his son-in-law Dainsai who stayed by his side to take care of him, and Sun Yat-sen, who was dying at that time, was already in a semi-comatose state.

When Dynesay was serving his father-in-law at the bedside, whose eyes were already scattered, he would often see him stick out his trembling hands with difficulty and murmur in his mouth:

"Wan Er come soon, Wan Er come soon, I owe you the most in this life..."

And that photo after Song Qingling handed it to Sun Wan, she has been treasured for 54 years until her death, this photo is not only full of a father's guilt, but also a daughter's understanding of her father.

So what kind of grudge happened between Sun Yat-sen and his beloved daughter Sun Wan?

The story begins in 1986, when Sun Yat-sen's youngest daughter, Sun Wan, was born.

Gathering less with his father

On November 12, 1896, Sun Yat-sen and the youngest daughter of the original wife Lu Muzhen, Sun Wan, were born in Honolulu, usa, and it happened that this day was also the birthday of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, so he was very fond of his little daughter.

During the period after Sun Wan's birth, Sun Yat-sen, witnessing the autocracy, traitorism and corruption of the Qing government, would often make anti-Qing remarks, and when he went to England to run for the revolution, he was lured into the Qing government's mansion in London, England. he was imprisoned.

After sun wan was born, she lived with her mother in the home of her uncle Sun Mei in Honolulu, and Sun Wan's entire childhood was also the most difficult stage of Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary road. Therefore, Sun Wan rarely saw the very remarkable father portrayed in her mother's mouth.

He resented his father over marital problems

In 1913, while studying in the United States, Sun Wan's sister Sun Wan, due to diabetes and kidney failure, finally died after three months of treatment.

Sun Yat-sen, who had lost a daughter, was worried that his younger daughter Sun Wan's life and safety in the United States would not be taken care of, so he arranged for Huang Xing, a stalwart of the League, to arrange a suitable person for his daughter Sun Wan to take care of her.

After thinking about it, Huang Xing finally chose Wang Boqiu, who had joined the League as early as his study in Japan, when he was studying at Harvard University, and after receiving the commission, Wang Boqiu, who was very dignified, came to Sun Wan's side and took good care of Sun Wan.

For 18-year-old Sun Wan, under the influence of the new western trend of thought, like a bird that has just flown out of the cage, in her clear eyes, all she sees is a scene of red flowers, willows and green, thriving.

Under the careful care of Wang Boqiu, Sun Wan, who has lacked her father's love since childhood, felt a different kind of warmth.

The two get along very harmoniously, after Sun Wan finishes class, she will take her homework out of the school door, and at this time, Wang Boqiu will always wait for Sun Wan at the gate, and at this time, she can always see the tall figure at a glance.

When encountering the scorching sun, Wang Boqiu would carry an umbrella on Sun Wan's head, such intimate behavior made Sun Wan feel a long-lost sense of security and Wang Boqiu's love for her like a father and brother.

The intimate contact between the two was gradually discovered by Huang Xing, so Huang Xing mentioned this matter when he wrote to Sun Yat-sen, "Making love seems to be in love." ”

After receiving the letter, Sun Yat-sen immediately could not sit still, and he began to investigate Wang Boqiu's family conditions, if it was appropriate, it was a good person for his daughter, which was the best.

Wang Boqiu

But after investigation, Sun Yat-sen learned that Wang Boqiu was actually a person who had a family early.

It turned out that when Wang Boqiu was 15 years old, he became related to a local woman named Li Chengxiang in his hometown according to old customs. Sun Yat-sen resolutely resisted polygamous marriages, so he firmly stated that he did not agree with his daughter Sun Wan and Wang Boqiu to have another relationship.

But Sun Wan was now trapped in a sweet love, unwilling to leave Wang Boqiu, and the two were also preparing to get married. Sun Yat-sen also firmly believed in his position, unless Wang Boqiu divorced his wife, he would not agree to the marriage. Sun Wan's approach to her father is difficult to accept, because she has lacked her father's love since she was a child, and in her heart, her father is "belonging to the country", so Sun Yat-sen's behavior of obstructing Sun Wan's marriage makes her feel sad.

In 1914, Sun Wan resolutely married Wang Boqiu, and at that time, they did not even have a witness except for a marriage certificate. After learning the news of his daughter's marriage, Sun Yat-sen immediately took a telegram and strongly demanded that his daughter Sun Wan retire from marriage and return to China.

"There must be a conflict between the New Deal and the new marriage, especially when doing small things, Wan Er should reflect on it well... Return to China quickly and handle things properly. ”

But Sun Wan insisted on her own choice and did not listen to her father's words. In 1916, Sun Wan gave birth to her eldest daughter, Wang Honghui. After giving birth to their son Wang Hong in 1919, the couple returned to China by mail ship together.

After returning to China, Sun Wan was suppressed by Wang Boqiu's mother at every turn, and Wang Boqiu also ignored the suffering of his wife because of his foolish filial piety, and Sun Wan felt more and more uncomfortable about her identity in the Wang family, and the two families could not be compatible.

Later, at the insistence of Sun Yat-sen, Wang Boqiu finally decided to leave Sun Wan with his two children. For this reason, Sun Wan lost the opportunity to be with her two children, so she complained about her father Sun Yat-sen, but at this time she did not understand her father's real good intentions.

Willows are dark and bright, and good marriages are good

In 1921, Sun Wan returned to Macau to accompany her mother, Lu Muzhen, who was living together in an apartment on Vincent Street in Macau.

At this time, Sun Wan's marriage was also valued by the family, and after the introduction of her brother Sun Ke, Sun Wan became acquainted with Dr. Dai Ensai, who was a five-Chinese person in Guangdong and four years older than Sun Wan.

In 1914, Dainsai went to Columbia University in the United States to study international law, and after receiving his doctorate in the United States in 1918, he returned to China to serve as secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Military Government in Guangzhou. It was also during this period that Dansai and Sun Ke became acquainted and established a friendship.

Sun Ke understands that Dane Sai is loyal and has strong work ability, and it is a good thing to introduce his sister to a good relationship. As a result, Sun Wan began to fall in love with Dane Sai, who was very good in all aspects.

Their mother, Lu Muzhen, also liked Dain Sai very much, so this time Sun Wan, at the behest of her mother, decided to marry Dai En Sai. Sun Yat-sen also supported Sun Wan's marriage.

On March 11, 1921, Soong Ching Ling sent a letter to Sun Wan on behalf of Sun Yat-sen:

"Your father and I are glad to hear that your wedding was held in Macau. I hope you will be very happy and send you a gift of four thousand dollars, or, as your father said, this is your dowry. ”

Sun Huan: Complaining that his father Sun Yat-sen broke up the marriage, did not accept the gift money after remarriage, and did not see the last side

Although she received the blessing of her father Sun Yat-sen, Sun Wan resolutely refused to accept the gift money, and she swore that she would not use a penny from her father, because of all the things that had made Sun Wan's resentment towards her father Sun Yat-sen deepen.

After Sun Wan and Dai En Sai married, she was very affectionate and began to live a happy honeymoon life, in the careful company of her husband Dan Sai, Sun Wan gradually forgot the trauma suffered in the previous relationship, and she finally felt the real married life.

In the winter of 1921, Sun Wan and Dai Ensai had their first daughter, although there was still an unsolved contradiction between Sun Wan and her father Sun Yat-sen, but after all, they were still a family, so after the birth of their daughter, Dain Sai and Sun Wan asked Sun Yat-sen to give a name to their newborn granddaughter.

At that time, Sun Yat-sen was on the Northern Expedition in Guilin, and he hoped that they would succeed in this Northern Expedition, so he named his granddaughter "Success".

In the summer of 1923, Sun Wan gave birth to a son in Hong Kong, and this time Sun Yat-sen gave birth to the name "Yongfeng" to commemorate the incident of the shipwreck in Yongfeng.

Sun Yat-sen was very fond of his two grandsons, and even more satisfied with his son-in-law Dai Ensai, so after the birth of his grandson, he gave him a lot of support, and then he appointed Dainsai as the customs supervisor of Wuzhou and the special guangxi negotiator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

His father died and he was never able to see him for the last time

On December 31, 1924, the weather in Beijing was very cold, and Dr. Sun Yat-sen took a train to Beijing in this cold wind, when he was already seriously ill. After the doctor's diagnosis and treatment in Beijing, it was finally determined that Sun Yat-sen had liver cancer.

As Sun Yat-sen's condition worsened, he was observed by Sun Yat-sen's side at the time except for hospital care. Dainsai also served Sun Yat-sen in the hospital.

At that time, Dainsai rushed to Beijing immediately after receiving the news that Sun Yat-sen was seriously ill and hospitalized. Sun Wan was recuperating in Macau due to illness, and she still had two young children to take care of, so Sun Wan did not travel with her husband, Dain Sai.

During the separation between the two places, they both relied on letters to keep in touch, and Dain Sai knew that although Sun Wan had a lot of complaints about her father Sun Yat-sen, she still cared about him very much in her heart. Therefore, Dain Sai had to write a letter to Sun Wan almost every day, informing her of her father's current medical condition.

On the afternoon of March 11, Sun Yat-sen began to instruct the aftermath, and he also specifically instructed the eldest son, Sun Ke, to take care of Sun Wan and his wife. Then he gave a photo of himself to Song Qingling and ordered her to give it to her daughter Sun Wan.

This great revolutionary not only had in his heart the call for "the revolution has not yet succeeded, comrades still need to work hard", but also had regrets about his daughter's little companionship and guilt.

Funeral of Sun Yat-sen

After this photo was handed over to Sun Wan's hands, she also carefully protected it, and not being able to see the last side of her father Sun Yat-sen also became an eternal regret in Sun Wan's heart. Later, as she grew older, Sun Wan gradually understood the state of mind of parenthood, and even more understood her father's silent and selfless love.

When her father was young, because of the complicated state affairs and the great righteousness of the nation, sun Yat-sen, who had undertaken many things, naturally would not tell his daughter these things.

When Sun Wan grew up, she learned to distinguish between right and wrong, but she was unwilling to listen to any explanation from her father, and by the time she realized, everything was like a yellow flower and water, and it could no longer be recovered.

He followed her husband on a mission to Brazil and had difficulties in his life after returning home

In 1928, Dainsai took up the post of Inspector of the Guangdong River, and the following year, Dainsai was appointed Minister of the National Government in Brazil and went to Brazil to take up his post, while Sun Wan, as a family member of Dainsai, wanted to follow him to Brazil.

Before Leaving for Brazil, Sun Wan had a wish that had not been fulfilled, that is, the custody of the two children between her and Wang Boqiu. In order to solve this matter before leaving, Sun Wan and Wang Boqiu made an appointment to meet with a pair of children, but Wang Boqiu did not keep his promises, and in the end Sun Wan failed to see a pair of children before leaving.

In November 1929, Sun Wan entrusted Dai Chenggong and Dai Yongfeng to her mother Lu Muzhen, who settled in Macau, and then went to Brazil with her husband to take up her post. After four years in Brazil, the couple finished their work in Brazil and returned to their home countries.

During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the life of Sun Wan's family began to be difficult, and after the Japanese invasion of Guangdong, Dai Ensai's position as a customs official was suspended after returning to China. During this period he did not have any income, no financial assistance and no pension.

Sun Wan and her husband can only earn money to support the family every day, after a day of tired work, both of them are exhausted, and as the days go by, the body will definitely not be able to eat. Finally they were crushed by life, and after the doctor's examination, both of them needed to rest in order to adjust their bodies.

In desperation, Sun Wan and Dai Ensai chose to ask for help from Chiang Kai-shek and her brother Sun Ke, who informed them of the suffering they were experiencing now and their desire to receive funds to help them go abroad for recuperation.

But since the letter was sent, it has been sunk and has not received any reply, and at that most difficult time, the family has no main source of income, and life is becoming more and more difficult.

After learning that the family of Sun Yat-sen's daughter was living in such hardship, the Japanese consulate in Macao also sent a special food supply to Lu Muzhen, but Lu Muzhen resolutely refused to accept it and let people return it. Although life is difficult, as the family of a generation of revolutionaries, Sun Wan's family is naturally very backbone, and it is precisely like this, how can they accept gifts from the Japanese?

Sons and husbands have died one after another and suffered heavy blows

In October 1949, when Guangzhou was about to be liberated, Sun Wan's family decided to move to Macau, but Sun Wan's son Dai Yongfeng was reluctant to return to Macau, and he chose to stay at Lingnan University in Guangzhou to continue his work. On the one hand, he does not want to be directly blessed by his parents; on the other hand, he sees the dawn of new China and wants to contribute his strength to the construction of new China.

Sun Wan and Dai Ensai also agreed with their son's choice, so the couple moved to Macau with their daughter Dai Chenggong. What Sun Wan did not expect was that her son's decision to stay was never able to return to her side.

In June 1952, when Dai Yongfeng suddenly fell ill and died in his dormitory at Lingnan University, when the news reached Dai Ensai's ear, the father was full of shock, because in his heart, how could his son, who had always been in good health, suddenly die of illness?

But after his various inquiries, the news of Dai Yongfeng's death was indeed true. Dane Sai was mentally devastated by this, and he was unable to alleviate the heartache caused by the death of his son, and finally fell down completely.

On January 16, 1955, Dai Ensai passed away, leaving only his wife Sun Wan and daughter Dai Chenggong to live together in the world.

Sun Wan could not accept such a cruel reality, nor could she believe that her husband had left her like this, she had lost the fighting spirit of life, but for the success of her daughter Dai around her, Sun Wan knew that she would persist.

At that time, their lives were very difficult, in order to make up a little money, Sun Wan could only let her daughter Dai successfully sell the property left by her husband Dai Ensai. With the money, the mother and daughter moved to a small two-storey house at 51 Avenida Dei Nubius, Macau.

In order to make a living, under the successful arrangement of their daughter Dai, they opened an antique shop in Macau, specializing in dealing with a batch of antiques left by Dainsai, and the mother and daughter who made some money barely survived.

In 1968, Sun Wan also received an invitation from Chiang Kai-shek to send her to taiwan to spend her old age, and in the face of Chiang Kai-shek's invitation, Sun Wan finally declined, saying that she was too old to toss her body anymore.

He died of illness and treasured the photographs left by his father

On the night of Chinese New Year's Eve 1971, Sun Wan was watching TV on the sofa, and then got up to go to the bathroom, but because she did not support the support, she fell from the sofa to sit on the carpet, at that time Sun Wan did not feel any discomfort, and her daughter Dai Chenggong also thought that her mother was not in any serious trouble.

But who knows that the next day, Sun Wan's body pain began to serious, daughter Dai Chenggong immediately took her mother to find an orthopedic doctor to see a doctor, the doctor said that Sun Wan's condition is very serious, need to be hospitalized immediately.

This matter also reached the ears of the central leaders, and finally through the opinion of the leaders, Sun Wan was admitted to the Jinghu Hospital, and after examination, the fall she fell was shattered after the fall.

Beijing also specially sent a famous orthopedic doctor to treat Sun Wan, who lived in the hospital for eight years, and Sun Wan has been spending bone pain. Daughter Dai Chenggong also accompanied her mother every day and night.

On June 3, 1979, Sun Wan finally died at the age of 83 at the Mirror Lake Hospital in Macau. Daughter Dai Chenggong died on April 9, 1991, due to severe diabetes and kidney failure, and finally died tragically.

In 1991, when Sun Wan's daughter Situ Qian was sorting out the relics of Sun Wan and Dai Chenggong, she found the photo that Sun Yat-sen left for her daughter Sun Wan.

This photo has always been carefully treasured by Sun Wan, and later Situ Qian donated this precious photo to the Xinhai Revolution Memorial Hall in Guangzhou, which is a complete history of Sun Wan's father-daughter relationship with Sun Yat-sen.
