BAIC Manufacturing has a very low presence in domestic car companies, and has been living in the impression of consumers with the "living fossil" model BJ212. Recently, a group of BAIC manufacturing future product layout news was exposed. From the perspective of the plan, BAIC Manufacturing will launch a variety of models, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, military vehicles and modified vehicles. There are also a number of pickup truck models, such as the new BJ212 pickup, as well as home-oriented urban pickups and off-road pickups for play attributes.
Judging from the exposed pictures, the 212 pickup may be a brand new product. The car adopts the front face design of the new 212 recently exposed, with a three-banner grille in the middle and a round lamp style on both sides, which is very cute and more designed. The side and rear lines of the vehicle are basically the same as those of the current 212, using a cockpit form with double doors and single row seats, trapezoidal wheel arches and large off-road tires to maintain the elements of the existing model, and it is expected to be a pickup truck that is biased towards playful properties.
In addition, the size of the car has also been exposed, the length, width and height are 4325 * 1830 * 1960mm, the wheelbase is 2460mm, the wheelbase is 1530mm, and the new 212 is basically the same as other models. In terms of power, there will be three kinds of power options: 2.0L, 2.0T and 2.4T, and match the 5-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmissions. The car will be available in July 2024.
At the same time, in terms of exposed product layout, in addition to the 212 pickup version, there will be two pickups on the scene, including an urban-oriented pickup truck and an off-road oriented model. However, from the side of the two cars, it is likely to be modified and then launched according to the existing models.
Judging from the current state of BAIC manufacturing, it is difficult to have the strength to launch a new platform and models, so it is not excluded that these models are "changing soup without changing medicine".
