The famous writer Feng Deying died in Qingdao on January 17, 2022 at the age of 86 due to ineffective medical treatment.

According to public information, Feng Deying, a native of Rushan, Shandong, was born in 1935, studied at the Communications School of the Third Field Army of the East China Military Region, studied in the East China Air Force Aviation Training Brigade after graduation, successively served as a reporter of a certain air force department, a radio station chief, a radar command platoon leader, and other positions; in 1959, he was transferred to the creation room of the Political Department of the Air Force as a full-time creator; in 1980, he returned to Shandong to work; he successively served as chairman of the Jinan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, vice chairman of the Jinan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, chairman of the Shandong Writers Association, and secretary of the party leading group.

Feng Deying's well-known works for many people are "Bitter Cauliflower", "Spring Flower" and "Mountain Chrysanthemum". "Bitter Cauliflower" is a novel published at the age of 22, and it is also his debut novel, which was later adapted into a film and released as a gift film for the 20th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and Feng Deying also became a representative writer in the history of contemporary literature.

"Bitter Cauliflower" is known as the Chinese version of Gorky's "Mother". The "Spring Tide" in "Bitter Cauliflower" has also been compiled into primary school Chinese textbooks.
