Looking forward to the affordable iPhone 14 with a ProMotion screen? Fruit powder is probably disappointed

Originally expected, the ProMotion screen, which was originally only installed on the iPhone 13 Pro series that can provide a 120Hz screen refresh rate, will be lowered to the affordable version of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models this year. But Ross Young, CEO of the research firm DSCC, pointed out earlier on his Twitter that this year Apple may continue the "tradition" of the iPhone 13 Pro, only equipped with a ProMotion screen on the iPhone 14 Pro.

Ross Young wrote in the post that because BOE does not have enough LTPO capacity, ProMotion will still not affect all iPhone 14 models, and the 120Hz screen refresh rate may still be exclusive to pro models.

No since BOE doesn’t have enough LTPO capacity and have yet to ship any LTPO panels. Would be quite risky. Maybe in 2023…

Ross Young hinted that BOE will be the supplier of LTPO OLED displays for the affordable iPhone 14 model, but the company does not yet have enough production capacity, and Samsung is currently the exclusive supplier of LTPO OLED displays for the iPhone 13 Pro model.

Apple first launched an iPhone with a ProMotion display in September last year, but it was only available on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models. ProMotion displays provide up to 120Hz screen refresh rate for smoother content display, and ProMotion displays provide a minimum 10Hz screen refresh rate to extend the iPhone's battery life.
